Dear Friends

I greet you once again in Jesus’ precious name.

Time seems to be flying by at the moment. Everything seems to be speeding up! Whilst having my quiet time, I felt many of us may feel that we are at our wits’ end, not knowing which way to turn. Almost as if we are standing in front of the Jordan river, not knowing how to cross to the other side. What might be more challenging is that our security; perhaps your husband, your wife, maybe your employment, is no longer there. The story of Elijah and Elisha comes to mind, where the Lord fetched Elijah in a chariot of fire and took him Home. Perhaps the Lord has also taken one who is very special to you.

The beautiful scripture in 2 Kings 2:12 (KJV) says “and Elisha saw it, and he cried, my Father my Father, the chariot of Israel, and the horseman thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and he rent them in two pieces”.

Elisha had been mentored and fathered by Elijah. He stood in front of the Jordan River alone and at his wits’ end. Maybe you can identify with Elisha at the moment. It is time to step out in faith. It is time to realize that when Christ is for you, no man can stand against you. (Romans 8:31).

Just as Elisha picked up Elijah’s cloak and struck that Jordan River in front of him, it is time for you to do the same. By faith, (only the size of one mustard seed), you need to tell that water to be divided and then walk across it. At the end of his life, Elisha, performed twice as many miracles as Elijah, and yet Elijah was God’s chosen vessel. The difference was that Elisha was greedy for more of God. I believe we need to be more “greedy” for the anointing of God.

As we see things coming to a head in every sphere of this life, we really need to know that we are never alone. Jesus promised us in Hebrews 13:5; “I will never leave you, nor forsake you.”

A report back:

My good friends, Eric and Gill Tocknell, who invited us to City Hill Pinetown and Hillcrest recently, summed up the meetings so well when they said that there was a sweet spirit of peace and faith in the meeting. In both meetings, many folk made first time commitments to the Lord Jesus and we look forward to hearing report backs of many healings and answered prayers.

This is definitely the time for the Holy Spirit to take His rightful place. We speak much of our Heavenly Father, because He is indeed our Father. We speak much of our best friend Jesus also, but we tend to often neglect the presence of the third Person of the Holy Trinity. The Holy Spirit is equally important. He is the Helper. He has come in these last days to help His people. The Bible says that the latter rain will be greater than the former rain.

I am very excited for our new book, The Booth, which will be released in September. This book is going to be a very important book for many of us. I am always amazed when I ask believers who have known the Lord for awhile, what their quiet time everyday with God consists of. Mostly, it is very little! This book is about getting back to basics with having a proper quiet time every day. My dear friend, if we don’t spend time with God, we are going to find ourselves in big trouble.

Please pray for Jill and our family as I will be away from home, travelling a lot over the next four months. I have the privilege of going to Israel twice, the UK and again to the USA. Everyone on the farm is well. We have just had lovely winter rain, which has settled all the dust and calmed the fire hazard, which is a relief for the timber farmers in our district. God is so faithful.

Please continue to pray for our TV programs; Grassroots and Family Time. We are getting a fantastic response from all over the world, but as you know, it always comes at a great price. Please continue to pray for sustainability, that we will maintain the pace and run this race well. Please also pray for our crew, George Carpenter (my producer) and his brothers, these men grind the stone 24/7 and produce quality shows which bring much honor to the Lord. Our media team is growing with Andre and Jared, who have started managing our social media side of things, these men have great vision and passion for God.

Our new website will be launched next week:

May God bless you as you continue to press on for Him. Remember that you are not alone. To those of you who pray for us, thank you so much, we need your prayers in these critical times. God is opening doors for us, but it requires huge amounts of faith.

May God bless you richly.

Yours in Christ’s service

Angus & Jill and the Shalom team
