Fair-Weather Christians

A fair-weather Christian is a person who worships and praises the Lord Jesus Christ when everything is going well, when the sun is shining and everyone is happy. But, when things are going poorly and it is dark, and there is no sun, and it looks like it is going from bad to worse, then that person refuses to worship the Lord.

The Lord is not interested in fair-weather Christians. He wants us to be like that very faithful farmer, Job, who said in the book of Job 13:15 (NKJV)

“Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him.”

That wonderful old Scottish Preacher, George Matheson, who was blind, said: “We need to check our hearts and ask ourselves the question – who are we truly worshipping, the gift or the Giver?”  We need to worship the Giver in good weather and in harsh weather.

Jesus bless you.
