Harvest Time

Written by Angus Buchan on . Posted in From Angus' Desk

In the column of my bible I wrote the following many years ago, “No time left! Got to speak up.” That was written next to the bible scripture, John 4:35, in which Jesus says, “Do not say there are still four months and then comes the harvest. Behold I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest.”

Just yesterday, when preaching in Johannesburg, the Pastor asked me before the service, to please be very specific when making the invitation to come forward for repentance. He said often people come forward for numerous issues like bitterness, unforgiveness, fear etc. and when the counsellors want to help them, the folk say that they are already believers. So, when I had completed the sermon, and made the alter call – specifically for those who have never prayed the sinner’s prayer – I was astonished to see in excess of 650 folk come forward to be “born again”.

It is indeed harvest time. We need to get back to basics and to stop entertaining people. They need to be born again (John 3:3).

At the alter there was much weeping, brokenness and repentance, especially among the younger folk. They want the gospel straight; the whole truth with none of the froth and bubbles.

Let us roll up our sleeves and get out there. Let’s get into the harvest fields, for the harvest is ripe and ready for reaping, but it must be the undiluted Gospel without all the frills because “Unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God”. (John 3:3)

Your fellow harvesters,

As we face a brand New Year we need to ask ourselves a serious question: who and what are we putting our expectations, our trust in, for this year ahead of us?

Is it in our New Years resolutions? Our Employer? Our business or farming enterprise? Maybe in our relationships with family and friends? Or even in our ministry?

Well, my dearest friend, I need to sincerely warn you that if you put your hope and expectation in any one of these above things you are going to be sorely disappointed!

King David put his hope and trust in many things, and in many people, even those of his own household, his own flesh and blood, and was disappointed and horribly let down. So he said, in Psalm 62:5, “My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him”.

Put all of your hope and trust in Jesus alone this year, and you will have the best year of your life.

God Bless, and have a peaceful New Year.

The Ministry of Reconciliation

Written by Angus Buchan on . Posted in From Angus' Desk

The word reconciliation means “restore friendly relations”. What a great opportunity to be a reconciler during this Christmas season. This is exactly what our Heavenly Father has called you and I to be, His ambassadors, bringing reconciliation between God and man!

What an opportunity to exercise this commission from God, to bring men and women to God through our love and care for them, yes ,Christ working through us.

At Christmas time we shall meet loved ones we do not often see during the year, some reunions will be sheer bliss and others maybe not quite so! However this is our God given opportunity to build bridges, love unconditionally, let bygones be bygones and be the reconcilers Jesus has called us to be.

God Bless,
Angus and Jill Buchan.

John 15:13 – “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends”.

Folly of the Godless

Written by Angus Buchan on . Posted in From Angus' Desk

The word “folly” is an old English word which literally means foolishness. The Oxford dictionary tells us that it is an ornamental building with no practical purpose, especially a tower or mock-Gothic ruin in a large garden or park.

Now to say that there is no God, is extreme folly, because it serves absolutely no practical purpose!

As King David said in Psalm 53:1, ‘The fool said in his heart, “There is no God.”’

God is everywhere. As I write this letter from my quiet time room on the farm, and I hear the birds singing outside my window, I know that our God created this beautiful music. Even His creation is singing to Him.

There is more historical evidence that Jesus walked on this earth than there is about Julius Caesar! Just about every single Bible prophecy has come to pass, and Jesus second coming is very evident.

Let us not waste valuable time trying to disprove the existence of God, let us rather increase our faith by believing the Bible (Romans 8:17), and by telling the world about this soon returning God who so loves us that He gave us His only Son Jesus Christ. Let us tell them about the God who has made a way for each one of us to walk this road of life with peace, purpose, and victory.

Remember, He’s not coming back for good people, He’s coming back for Believers; those who know their God. And because of that single act of faith, the Believer shall carry out great exploits for God in these last days. Daniel 11:32, “But the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.”

God Bless,
Angus and Jill Buchan.

Keep On Going

Written by Angus Buchan on . Posted in From Angus' Desk

As we face the end of another year many of us might have had a few disappointments during 2016.

Maybe you did not quite succeed in your goals, maybe you did not realize your dream for this year. Well, we are not alone because the Apostle Paul, who wrote two thirds of the New Testament, and who had a personal, on-on-one encounter with the living Christ, said, “Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.” (Philippians 3:12)

So therefore, you and I need to keep on going, and not lose heart because, He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it. (1 Thessalonians 5:24)

I honestly believe, with all my heart, that the best has yet to come for us who believe.

God bless you as you blow that trumpet loud and clear!

Prayer Letter – November 2016

Written by Leon Vermeulen on . Posted in Prayer Letters

Dear Prayer Partners, We all know that the 19th November 2016 will go down in the annals of our history as a historic day when the Christians of this nation, and their generations to follow, will remember that on this day all the children of the Lord came together to have a Sacred Assembly at FNB stadium in Soweto as ordained by the Lord. A multitude of prayers, pleas, supplications and cries for repentance have gone up before the Lord for this nation and will continue in the days to come, culminating on the 19th November 2016 when our brother Angus will address the nation at the stadium and on radio. I want you to join with me in prayer from the scriptures as instructed by the Lord Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit. I would like to encourage you to come and seek the Lord because He is near us and has availed Himself to us. Let us turn away from our wicked ways and turn to Him who is willing to forgive us and cleanse us as sinners by His blood that He shed for us. Let us abandon every evil thought and bring every thought under His authority and ask Him to give us His thoughts because His thoughts are not like our thoughts, His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. Yet, His thoughts and His ways are now within our reach because ‘He is the way the truth and the life..’ Let us ask the Lord to give us the fullness of His Holy Spirit which is like rain that waters the earth in order to bring about a great harvest to the one who sowed in time. Ask the Lord to make you a sower as from now. Let us ask the Lord to give us His word, the Bread of Life, to embrace because His word remains forever. His word never fails and always accomplishes what He plans and causes it to prosper wherever and to whoever He sends it. Ask the Lord to give Angus the word that He wants to bring across to us as Christians that we may become fruitful and useful in His hands for generations to come. Pray for the protection of Angus and every person that will participate in the honouring of this event, particularly against schemes of the evil one. May the Lord bless you and keep you, may he make His face to shine on you and be gracious to you, and may the Lord look upon you and give you peace. Leon.

Counting The Cost

Written by Angus Buchan on . Posted in From Angus' Desk

Early this morning while spending time with the Master, I felt very strongly in my spirit that Jesus relayed to me that as we draw near to his second coming, and we see all the signs around us pointing that way, we need to really, and honestly, sit down and count the cost! Basically, if our faith and allegiance to Jesus Christ in these last days is costing us nothing, then it is actually worth nothing. In the Gospel of Luke and chapter 9: 57-62, we see many people wanting to follow after Jesus, but every single time that discipleship came at a cost, and priorities were required. For example, there was a man who wanted desperately to follow the Lord, but who said, “Please let me first bury my Father.” Jesus replied, “Let the dead bury their own dead.” There was another man who said, “Lord I desire to follow you, but let me first go and say goodbye to my family.” Jesus said, “Once you have put your hand to the plough there is absolutely no turning back for anything.” We are going up to the third biggest stadium in the world on Saturday 19th November to meet with God as a Nation. For us there can be no possibility of turning back for anyone or anything. We will see you there with at least 100,000 others who are committed to see South Africa supernaturally changed by the hand of God, as we his people, repent on behalf of a nation that has turned its back on God, we will see you there. God Bless, Angus and Jill Buchan 2 Chronicles 7:14

Joy Comes In The Morning

Written by Angus Buchan on . Posted in From Angus' Desk

Having returned last night from the City of Gold (Egoli), I can honestly say that very rarely in my walk with God have I ever been as excited as I felt this beautiful Monday morn, the last day of October 2016 . The Lord Jesus has spoken so very clearly to me through His beautiful word, the bible, in and through Psalm 30: 1 and 12. Yes, I have felt like I have been in the proverbial pit, with no light at the end of the tunnel for a while now. But this morning the weeping was over, and joy has filled my heart to overflowing. God is going to perform something supernatural at the “Calabash” like we have never seen before in this ministry! Yesterday we had three very powerful encounters with the public. Two meetings took place in large, predominantly black radio stations in Johannesburg, and it was so amazing to come face to face with the public at large, and then to hear their heartfelt frustrations, anger, and hope, for the future of this nation. It was a wonderful revelation, and conformation for me that the Sacred Assembly is right on time. Then to have the privilege to speak at Ashley Bell’s dynamic Church, which was packed to the very rafters with eager souls wanting to hear from Jesus Himself. As I walked in to the meeting the very air was pregnant with excitement and expectation. The Church had been praying and believing that it was for a time such as this, we have been called. (Esther 4:14) “The Lord is my Helper”, and He has turned my mourning into dancing, – Psalm 30:11 Please collect your tickets from Computicket as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. The people of God are coming to the stadium in their masses to repent, to confess, and then to receive, and Jesus has promised me, and you, that yet once again he shall not disappoint. From the top government officials, to the simple hard working man in the street, they are all coming. Please do not miss out on this God moment in your life. As one dear intercessor said, “This type of meeting may never take place again.” God Bless you richly, Angus and Jill Buchan.
