An Open Letter from Dr. Arno van Niekerk.

Written by Shalom on . Posted in Article

My dear fellow believer in Jesus Christ,

We need a Godly intervention in South Africa. If we want to see our nation turn around there is no other way than for us to first humble ourselves before the King of kings. Political and economic transformation cannot change the hearts of people. Only deep-rooted spiritual transformation can bring real change. The nation is ripped apart and only Jesus can heal South Africa. He must be central to change in the country, otherwise it won’t be true and lasting. The current turmoil is the poisonous fruit we are picking for building on the sand and compromising God’s guidelines. It is time to lead the nation back to building on the Rock and put the Cornerstone in place. It’s up to us.

A Sacred Assembly of 100 000 South Africans at FNB Stadium in Soweto.

God said: “Call a sacred assembly” (Joel 2:15). This is the Scripture God gave Angus Buchan and several other significant leaders in the country to put into action. Already there is favour from the Lord as He made the FNB Stadium in Soweto available. God has selected this place, with its history of pain and ruin, to activate healing and Godly restoration in South Africa. The enemy keeps on using racial enmity to destroy South Africa. We need to come into the presence of God and confess and forgive. Our hearts need to be transformed, melted and joined together by the Holy Spirit. It is envisioned that at least 50 000 black and 50 000 white South Africans, from all walks of life, gather there in humble submission to Almighty God. It is time to act. WHY is this so important?

Only when many of God’s people, the church, take the initiative to collectively come before the Lord on behalf of the nation, will the direction change. “Bend the church and bow the world,” is what brought about the Welsh Revival in the early 1900s. There rests a huge Calling (and destiny) on South Africa in the times we live in, but the enemy does everything to prevent it. It is up to us – God’s people – to direct the country INTO the future He intends for us and AWAY from the current destructive path we find ourselves on. Why can’t we all just pray at home? No, Jesus gives the answer in John 17:21, “that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.” The visible unity of the church (with each other and with God) speak very strongly to the world. The Holy Spirit then brings conviction. But if we remain passive, we have no impact and nothing changes. It is when we draw up, UNITE and gather in a Holy Assembly, that a message of new direction is loud and clear. And this is only the beginning of change. Only a united church can heal a divided nation. #BeTheChange

This, dear child of God, is a kind but URGENT invitation to gather together at the FNB Stadium in Soweto on Saturday, 19 November 2016, for a historic event that will open up a new prophetic path for South Africa as black and white stand together like never before. No doubt: we need each other and we need God’s intervention and leadership. It is a sincere and Spirit-led initiative that is not focused on man or traditions, but on God. Our nation is on the brink – it calls for drastic action. The good fight of faith starts on our knees; it is the position of victory. You are most needed here.

The Lord bless you and keep you,
Dr Arno van Niekerk.

UK Tour Update – A Statement from Angus Buchan

Written by Angus Buchan on . Posted in Article, From Angus' Desk

Romans 1:16 – For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

It is with great sadness of heart that I write you this letter in the early hours of this morning from my quiet time room.

On the virtual eve of my departure for a four Nations preaching campaign to the UK, to preach the undiluted Gospel of Jesus Christ, I have come under the most severe attack and resistance I have ever experienced in my life since becoming a Christian in 1979.

Starting in the beloved home country of my dearest Father and Mother, “Bonnie Scotland”. I am so pleased that the old Scottish blacksmith and his dear old wife are no longer alive – both safe in the arms of Jesus now.

Effectively, the gay rights movement have banned me from preaching the Gospel in their town called Galashiels situated on the Scottish Borders. The Sanhedrin (governing body), have put such huge pressure on the young pastor who invited me, that he has been forced to cancel the proposed Gospel event.

This action has now spread across the Irish Sea to the beautiful “Emerald Isle” and there is a tremendous uproar taking place as I write this letter to get me banned from preaching the Gospel there as well.

I am accused of being a homophobe, and many other unsavory things, but all I am doing, and still intend to do in Great Britain, is to preach the undiluted Word of God, “The Bible” in its entirety, not compromising one word. It is because I love people and do not want them to perish and go to a lost eternity.

John 17:17, states very clearly, “Sanctify them by your truth. Your word is truth”. That is all I have ever done in the past, and that is all I will ever do!

I love homosexuals, and I love lesbians, but I cannot condone their way of living, their lifestyle, because it is contrary to the teaching of God’s Holy Word!

Please pray for me, and my family, and loved ones, our team and very especially the team of gallant soldiers of the Cross who are boldly withstanding the full onslaught of the powers of darkness at this very moment in the United Kingdom and Ireland. 1 John 4:4.

In conclusion, it is so heart wrenching for me as a born African, who is simply attempting to take the precious Word of God back to the very country that brought it to Africa so many years ago, and at a great price. Those missionaries taught us well and they taught us to be “Bible believing Christians”, and they taught us that the Word of God is sovereign, and must never be tampered with or changed.

By His grace I shall return to my roots, taking with me the very same Gospel that was brought out to us in Africa by the early missionaries, (who brought the good news, with much love, blood, sweat, and tears at cost of their very own lives), and am trusting that I shall at least be afforded the opportunity to share Gods Holy Word with a dying World.

Your servant,
Angus Buchan.

Acts 18:9-10
“Do not be afraid but speak, and do not keep silent: for I am with you, and no one will attack you to hurt you; for I have many people in this city.” – The verse Jesus gave me, 1989, when I was called to preach the Gospel.

Easter Service 2016

Written by Shalom on . Posted in Article

The following article is a look back this years Easter Sunday service, which took place at Shalom Farm. The author is Cath Cope.
Easter Sunday was ‘abuzz’ with family, friends and many new visitors. Before starting his service, Uncle Angus began by asking the church to sing the significant song “No longer a slave to fear” a second time. However, this time, he asked if everyone could sing it in the first person and “take ownership of the words”. Any saved person would be able to familiarize themselves with the powerful words of this song.

No longer a slave to fear, I am a child of God

Uncle Angus introduced his sermon as “Miracle Sunday” and how we must anticipate miracles within our lives. He began by sharing the story of Mary Magdalene, in John 20:1, and how she comes to find the tomb empty. God uses “nobodies” like Mary Magdalene and makes them new. The disciples finding the tomb empty and believing was yet another example of the miracles that were experienced by simple people, like you and me.

He is not God of the dead, He is God of the living – Luke 20:38

Many people raised their hands during the sermon to admit that they were there to witness a miracle. Uncle Angus reiterated how one needs to truly believe for a miracle to take place and that “the condition for a great miracle is impossibility”. The greatest miracle of all was that Jesus rose from the dead.

Miracles are not meant to be understood, they are meant to be believed. – M.L. Jones

Uncle Angus challenged everyone to forgive one another and let go of anger, bitterness and resentment, and in return receive their miracle. He challenged all to “stand up for Jesus” and “not to be ashamed of the gospel”. Everyone joined in the Sinners Prayer at the end of the service and the sick were prayed for. Cath Cope.

Testimony from Stand Strong Conference

An amazing testimony from someone who was watching the Stand Strong Conference on TV has been sent in to us. Please take a moment to read this beautiful true story of how God can change an entire life in one moment.

God Bless,
The Shalom Team.

My name is Martin and I have just turned 18. A while back, during the Stand Strong  conference, Uncle Angus had given a message to someone while looking into the camera saying “Martin, read the word and the word will set you free”.

I was completely amazed and I don’t know if Angus had been talking to me specifically, but I can tell you that the night before, I had asked our Heavenly Father what I must do to be set free from an addiction, and I had received an answer! So, I just wanted to thank Angus for being salty and courageous.

Testimony from FiredUp 2014

An amazing testimony from someone who attended last year’s FiredUp event has been sent in to us. Please take a moment to read this beautiful true story of how God can change an entire life in one moment.

Hi Uncle Angus and team,

I felt just to share what the Lord has done in my life since an event I went to on the 28th August 2014.

It was at the FiredUp week at Tuks. I was a drug addict for 9 years, I drank like nothing else, I smoked, I sniffed cocaine and did all kinds of drugs for years. I dated my now fiancé for 5 years before we broke up. It was then that I really went off the rails and lost everything. At 28 I had to move back to my mother.

Time passed and I got back with my fiancé and things started to become better as she is a Christian. I wasn’t a Christian, so when she took me to the church, I left and wasn’t interested until I hit rock bottom and lost everything!

The 28th August came up and I decided to go listen to Uncle Angus. Well, was I going to be in for a surprise! I went on my own, in the coldest night I`ve ever felt in my life. I had even bought drugs that day. Then, Uncle Angus came onto the stage and told us the message for that night was about ‘No Compromise’. That we must stop doing drugs, and living lives like that. That hit me for 6!

It felt like I was the only one he was talking to! I wanted my life to get better in everyway but I didn’t think I could ever leave the drugs alone. That night, I stood up and went to the stage to give my life to Jesus. I was delivered and set free from drugs and smoking IMMEDIATELY! From that day things just got better and better.

I am now a youth leader at Choose Life Church in Pretoria and love to get deeper in love, and closer, with Jesus everyday. I also have a number of groups I attend and have walked with many people as they meet the Glory of God found in Jesus.

I will never forget the night of the 28th August. The night that my drug addiction was lifted from me and I was set free in a split second. Glory to God!

I felt that I would just share that with you.

Starting The Journey Begin Die Reis

Worcester, England

Written by Shalom on . Posted in Article

It was wonderful to see a sheep shed transformed into a meeting venue, which was packed with hundreds of people in Worcester, England. We started this amazing week in a cow shed in Wales and finished it in a sheep shed in England. Again, it was a wonderful night with many re-commitments and commitments to the Way, the Truth and the Life. We saw healing’s and a great sense of love around the Sheep Shed. We also met the grandparents of the little girl whom Angus picked up from the crowd in Leven. It has been a brilliant journey. We have been in meetings in animal sheds, arenas, town centres, tents, a prison, schools and each venue has been so special as the Holy Spirit has been there with us every time. The Lord Jesus has been faithful. We thank Him for the amazing trip around the United Kingdom and we pray that it will become a United Kingdom in Christ.

Thank you for your faithful prayers.

Sunday – Coalville

On Sunday night in Coalville, Leicestershire, we met in a school. We were privileged to worship the Lord together. Many folk gave their lives to the Lord and we saw many healing’s taking place; crutches thrown away and people set free. There was much weeping and restoration among all who were there. Another brilliant evening for the Lord. Thank you for your continued prayers.

Saturday – Leven, Fife, Scotland

Written by Shalom on . Posted in Article

Saturday night, we saw over a thousand people inside and outside a tent on a farm in Scotland. Angus was back in Scotland and speaking in his mother tongue – it was fantastic! We saw hundreds come forward for salvation and re-commitments. The testimonies of healing’s are streaming in. Angus picked up a little girl who was chatting away and held her as he preached. She absolutely loved being with him and a stillness was in the place at that time. Angus invited couples up to the stage who were praying to have children including a piper and his wife, who came onto the stage at MMC 2012 in South Africa and played Amazing Grace to the crowd. The Kingdom is vast, but also small.

Last night in Magherafelt

Written by Shalom on . Posted in Article

It was an incredible night and following the visit to Magilligan prison it was another kingdom building experience. The town centre was even more packed than the previous night with probably somewhere around 2,000 people. The weather was held by the Lord following many prayers. There was torrential raining within a few miles. At the altar call, hundreds of people came forward for salvation and re-commitment. God was so amazing and it even surpassed the night before with the Peace choir affecting the people so much with their incredible singing.

Love to all
