Prayer Letter – January 2015

Written by Leon Vermeulen on . Posted in Prayer Letters

Dear Prayer Partners and Friends,

May this be a blessing from the Lord for 2015 for you and your loved ones:

‘May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May the Lord smile down on you and show you his kindness.
May the Lord answer your prayers and give you peace.’

What you have just read is the desire and purpose of God for every South African and the rest of the world. God’s greatest desire is to reconcile sinners unto Himself and this He did when His Son died a most painful death on The Cross in the place of sinners for their sin. Christ’s death on The Cross is the act of reconciliation that makes sinners free from sin, allowing them to make peace with God. To us who have made peace with God, the ministry of reconciliation has been given to plead with sinners to be reconciled with God – 2 Corinthians 5:17-21. The time has arrived for reconciliation to take place between God and man.

The Lord has opened the door for the 12 September 2015, at FNB stadium in Soweto. Angus is fearfully joyful (Mat 28:8) that such a wide door has opened and realises that this event can only take place with much prayer and fasting. There are also many other events happening this year which the Lord has called us to.

At this stage I would like to make a few suggestions that can be considered for prayer:
  1. Thank the Lord for opening this door and ask that no man be able to shut it.
  2. Tell  your family, friends, believers and unbelievers
  3. Start now to make arrangements for yourself to attend these events and to invite others.
  4. Consider hiring a passenger carrier/s for 10 or more persons.
  5. Start a monthly prayer meeting at your home to pray for these events.
  6. Encourage fellow believers, family and friends to pray and start a prayer meeting at their home, office or workplace.
  7. Make a clear note of the dates, 12 September 2015
  8. Consider passing this prayer letter on.
  9. Follow updates on
  10. This is an event for ALL people who have not yet reconciled with Jesus as Lord and Saviour and experienced the real love of God through rebirth.
Please pray for Angus, that the Joy of the Lord will be his strength.

Angus will also be ministering at various venues in Brazil from 29 January to 6 February 2015. This is an extremely hot period and our brother will need extra protection against heat exhaustion. Please also pray for good health, bodily strength and clarity of voice, safe flights and overland journeys. Ask the Holy Spirit for His fullness, inspiration, anointing and revelation.

I will keep you posted of Angus’s needs and ministry in the next prayer letter.

May He keep you and inspire you.

Prayer Letter – November 2014

Dear Prayer Partners,

It is a privilege to greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you to all those who will read this letter and join with us to pray, not being anxious about anything, but in every situation, with prayer and petition and with thanksgiving, will present our request to our Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus.

If ever there was a time for “prayer without ceasing”, it is now. Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Paul, the apostle exhorted the saints of Ephesus to pray in the Spirit, on all occasions, with all kinds of prayers and request. From the above we can conclude that prayer is the privilege we have to converse with God without having to make an appointment with Him.

November and December seem to be the months reserved for celebrations, year-end functions, parties, holidays, Christmas shopping and family gatherings. Together we enjoy Christmas dinners, Christmas services with Christmas carols and catching up with friends and family.

December is also one of the most turbulent months of the year as it seems that many people see this as the time of the year to “do what is right in their own eyes.” It is, however, most importantly the month in which we celebrate the birth of the Saviour of this world. I believe this is God’s word to us right now. “Although is seems to be all havoc out there, these are the fields that are standing white and ready to be harvested. Pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers to bring in the harvest.”

Let us then pray for Angus, one of Gods willing harvesters, always ready to minister to lost souls and to thank Jesus for their salvation. Angus will be at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, USA, on Sunday 23rd November to preach the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to give thanks, along with the congregation and the leaders of World Outreached Church, for what God continues to do in their midst.

Please pray that the Lord would give Angus a living and refreshing word anointed by the Holy Spirit, to share with God’s people. Please also pray for good health, for physical strength and a safe journey for both Angus and Sias Le Roux who will accompany him. Please remember to pray for their families back home and for Angus wife, Jill, who as an intercessor continues to pray for him.

On the 6th December, Angus will minister at Pevensey Place, an adult cerebral palsy centre in Underberg K.Z.N. Pevensey is a place of love, compassion and understanding. Please pray for them and visit them when you can at

Thank you for your prayer support for Angus during the course of this year. Let me encourage you again that your labour in the Lord is not in vain and you will reap your reward, if not here, then definitely in the life hereafter.

“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you, the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.”

Prayer Letter – August 2014

Dear Prayer Partners

I have recently again become so aware of the fact that there are still billions of people that need to be saved. In addition to that, there are probably millions that have grown up in Christian homes, but do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. Likewise, there may be churches where the Gospel of the Good News of Jesus Christ is not proclaimed any more. But we thank God that there are many that have not given up and that there are millions that are faithfully proclaiming the Gospel to a lost and dying world.

In addition to all this, we see a world that is in turmoil. There are wars all over. Christians are persecuted and massacred for no other reason than the mere fact that they believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Nations are standing up against nations and brothers are rising up against brothers. Violence seems to be spreading over the whole face of the earth. We are clearly living in perilous times. Let us therefore pray fervently for those that do not know the Lord Jesus Christ, that they may at least have one opportunity to hear the Gospel. Let us also pray for those that are labouring for the Lord even those that do not love their own lives unto death for the sake of them that need to be saved.

On the 29th August, Angus will be ministering at the Pretoria East School grounds, at the invitation of the University of Pretoria and Michael Cassidy to convince students that Jesus is the Answer. Please pray for this rare opportunity to be a mighty declaration of the Gospel of Christ.

On the 7th September, Angus will be speaking at Margate Baptist Church. Please pray for many souls to be saved on the East Coast and many lives to be changed for the Glory of God.

On the 28th September 2014 Angus will be ministering at Moreleta Church in Pretoria. Please pray earnestly for this event and ask the Lord to open a way in which the Gospel can be relayed so that as many people as possible will be able to hear and be saved.

From the 10th to the 15th of October 2014 Angus will be in Israel, amongst others at the Feast of Tabernacles, where he will be the guest speaker on the 12th. We all know how tense the situation is. It is not a safe place at present. Let us ask the Lord to prepare and equip Angus for this ministry that and that there may be a great outpouring of His Spirit on every person present. Let us also ask that the citizens of Israel may become aware of what God is doing in their land through the Christians that are praying for them and visiting their land.

On the 23rd November 2014 Angus will be ministering at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. His full program is not yet available for his trip to the USA. Let us in the meantime ask the Lord to make Angus ready for the ministry at Bridgestone Arena and wherever else the Lord may want to use him.

In addition to the above, please pray earnestly for the preparation of DVD‘s for TV, radio broadcasts, inspirational articles for newspapers and magazines, ministries at various churches, institutions and to a diversity of individuals.

Thank you all for your continued support and prayer,
Leon Vermeulen.

Prayer Letter – June 2014

Dear Prayer Partner I want to thank you personally for all your prayers for Angus and Jill,  and more specifically, your prayers for the various campaigns that will take place in the UK soon. Please feel free to invite all your relatives, friends or acquaintances living in or nearby any of the towns mentioned below. The UK probably has the most colourful and praiseworthy history of preaching the Gospel to the lost and taking it to the uttermost parts of the world. I have added brief examples of men that God raised up to fulfill His Great Commission:
  • John Wesley (28/06/1703– 02/03/1791) born at Epworth, Lincolnshire, England. He had a significant part in the 18th century movement of Christian Revivals sometimes called ‘The Great Awakening.’
  • George Whitefield (16/12/1714 – 30/09/1770) born at Gloucester, England. He was an itinerant minister who helped spread the ‘Great Awakening’ in Great Britain and, especially, in the British North American colonies.
  • James Hudson Taylor (21/05/1832 – 03/06/1905) born in Barnsley, Yorkshire, England and founder of the China Inland Mission spent 51 years in China. The Mission was responsible for bringing over 800 missionaries to the country. No other missionary since the Apostle Paul, has had a wider vision and carried out a more systematized plan of evangelizing on such a broad geographical area than Hudson Taylor
  • Duncan Campbell (1898 – 28 March 1972) was a Scottish preacher, Born in LoughorWales, who is best known for being a leader in the Lewis Awakening or Hebrides Revival.
  • Evan John Roberts (8 June 1878 – 29 September 1951), was a leading figure of the 1904-1905 Welsh Revival when more than 100 000 people in Wales committed their lives to Christ.
  • James Edwin Orr (1912 -1987), was born in Belfast, Ireland, and literally traveled the whole world to preach the Gospel to all Nations. Hundreds of thousands committed their live to Christ.
The extent of the massive Heavenly deposit made by Christians from the United Kingdom, at home and abroad, will only be known at the return of our Lord Jesus. May we join with our brethren in the UK in prayer for this time. May we all lay aside every weight and sin which so easily ensnares us and run with endurance the race that is set before us. May we look unto Jesus Christ for the outpouring of His Holy Spirit upon the people of the UK and for raising up Godly men to take up the mantle of those who have gone before them. May we also trust Him, who is able to do so much more than we can ask or think. May we trust our Lord for a huge revival in the whole of the UK during the 10th – 16th June 2014. Below is a summary of the places where Angus will be preaching, as well as the websites for more details.  Please pray with us for every meeting: Please pray that God will prepare and equip Angus and the team for the ministry of His Word. Please also pray for:
  • every person that will be involved in planning and participating in this ministry
  • all those who will attend the meetings
  • the safe travelling and good health for the whole team.
  • Jill and the family at home

PRAYER LETTER – March 2014

Written by Leon Vermeulen on . Posted in Prayer Letters

Dear Prayer Partners,

In the daily devotional ‘A Farmer’s Year’, Angus wrote, ‘Let me remind you that we are sojourners and travellers in a foreign land and this is not our home. Our home is in Heaven.’ Paul confirmed these words in 2 Corinthians 5:20 when he said “… we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us, we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.’ We represent the Kingdom of God, where Christ is the King in a domain that belongs to His Father and our Father. Therefore, all the saints are Christ’s representatives in the Kingdom of God here on earth. Consequently we receive all our instructions directly from our King, Jesus Christ. In order to do this, He has given us direct communication with Him, known as prayer. We have an ambassador’s manual known as the Bible. He has given us a Counsellor and Helper, the Holy Spirit, to help us interpret and understand the manual correctly (after all, He wrote the manual) and to speak boldly on behalf of our King. Let us now go to our King in prayer and ask Him to communicate His will to us and to help us to communicate His will to the people of this world that seem to be in turmoil.

Dear Lord Jesus, when You were on earth You saw the multitudes and were moved with compassion because they were weary and scattered like sheep without a shepherd. When we view the situation of the multitudes of this world then we cannot but conclude that the problem is still the same. You also observed that the harvest was truly plentiful but that the labourers were few and that it was necessary to ask the Lord of the Harvest to send out labourers into the harvest. We want to intercede for Angus whom You have called to be a committed harvester. Our petitions on behalf of our brother Angus are as follows:

  • That You will open doors to enable Your Gospel to reach the uttermost parts of the world.
  • Please protect Angus and Jill against the onslaughts and false accusations of the enemy, the devil and his evil spirits and the people that they may use.
  • Lord, may Your Word, that will proceed out of the mouth of Angus, not return unfulfilled to You but that it shall bring about and fulfil Your sovereign will, purposes and plans that you have for the lost.
  • Please look after all his needs such as good health, a healthy and clear mind, physical strength for all his travels, personal needs for himself, his family, the ministry and all those that are involved in the ministry with him.
  • Please work with Angus and confirm Your Word by stretching out Your hand to heal; that signs and wonders may be done in Your name wherever Angus preaches; that multitudes may be reconciled to You in our country and also in the countries beyond our borders such as the USA in May, the United Kingdom in June, Brazil in August, Israel in October and again the USA in November.
  • Please remind us Lord to pray about these things regularly and consistently.

Dear Lord Jesus, we ask these things in Your Name and trust that You will present this prayer of agreement to our Father, as our Intercessor that lives forever.”

May the Lord bless you and keep you, may He make His face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you; may the Lord lift His countenance upon you and give you peace.

Dam Mountains

Dear Prayer Partner and friends,

In Lamentations 3:22-26 the prophet Jeremiah, after he had gone through a time of severe affliction which caused his soul to sink within him, came to this conclusion with regard to the LORD:

22 The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases;
His mercies never come to an end;
23 they are new every morning;
great is Your faithfulness.
24 “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul,
“therefore I will hope in Him.”

25 The LORD is good to those who wait for Him,
to the soul who seeks Him.
26 It is good that one should wait quietly
for the salvation of the LORD.

I have highlighted a few words in verses 25 and 26 and would like to ask you to take a moment to seek Him and wait quietly for Him so that you can also come to the same conclusion as the prophet. Why not embrace this scripture and hide it in your heart until you know it off by heart. I urge you, seek Him and wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.

I have received Angus’ itinerary and calendar of events for the year. It is filled with exciting but very demanding events. You are going to be part and parcel of every event by way of your prayer.  At this stage I can say that there will be events in the USA, in the UK, in Israel and many places in South Africa. As I have written before that over and above the international events and major events in South Africa there are daily events that make an impact on the lives of people, both the saved and the unsaved all over the world. Until you receive the next prayer letter I would like you to cover both Angus and Jill as often as the Holy Spirit may lead you to pray for the following daily events:

May I prompt you with a thought the Holy Spirit dropped into my heart? Can you image what it must feel like to be an orphan?  Praise the Lord that Angus and Jill and the ‘mothers’ at the children’s home took over the responsibility to love and care for these precious souls at Beth-Hatlaim. What a privilege and responsibility! These children are our Father’s children and orphans no more.  Will you pray fervently for this ministry and for the children.

Angus’ books are touching so many souls all over the world. Pray for the inspiration of the Holy Spirit in the writing of this book on marriage.

This is a mammoth task. I know that Angus has never resorted to the duplication of messages in order to lighten this commitment. Ask the Lord to make every message fresh and anointed for all the viewers.

Similarly each column must be unique because it is directed to different types of readers, whether they are businessmen, farmers, professionals, tradesmen, labourers, prisoners or even the clergy, that their needs may be addressed and their eyes turned to the LORD for salvation and repentance.

Thank you for your prayers.

PRAYER LETTER – November 2013

Dear Prayer Partner,

We are nearing the end of another year, a year of great turmoil and a year of great success. Although we all are adversely affected by the suffering that is in the world, we are all the more encouraged by the fact that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which awaits us. Let us rejoice that in the presence of the Lord is fullness of joy and at His right hand are pleasures forevermore.
