Passing Through

“And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.”
Matthew 8:20

You and I need to keep short accounts with men and with God. This is not our permanent home. We really need to 'cut our cloth according to our pockets'... What does that mean? It means simply: get out of debt. Don’t owe anybody anything - We really need to get prepared. This home is not our home, we are just passing through. Heaven is our home. You know, some of us have got ourselves so bogged down and so entangled with the things of this worldly system, that if Jesus were to return tomorrow, we couldn’t go home with Him. We owe too much!

We need to cut our costs - How much is enough by the way?
That’s right, think about that!

You know, when Jesus sent the disciples out to preach and to heal the sick, He told them clearly in Luke 9:3:

“Take nothing for the journey, neither staffs nor bag nor bread nor money; and do not have two tunics apiece.”

In other words, we need to move lightly. Now, I am not suggesting for a minute that we must become irresponsible, not at all. We have to make provision for our families and our loved ones.

I just love watching those documentaries of those reindeer herders, right up in the frozen Northern part of the world. They travel with their animals and they live in tents. You will see them one day and the next day there is nothing to be seen... just vast white snow plains. They have moved on, following the seasons with their animals.

You and I today need to get ready for the coming of the Lord. Keep watching the clouds because one of these beautiful, glorious mornings, we will see Him coming in the clouds. He has promised us, with a mighty trumpet call and He will be saying, “It is time to come home children, to your permanent abode.”

Have a wonderful week as you keep your eyes on Jesus.
God bless you and goodbye.
