Call Upon Him

“However I did not believe their words until I came and saw with my own eyes, and indeed the half of the greatness of your wisdom was not told me. You exceed the fame of which I heard.” 2 Chronicles 9:6

Those were the words of the Queen of Sheba from Ethiopia. She had travelled for probably three months from Ethiopia to Israel, to meet King Solomon. You see, Romans 8:31 says if Christ be for you, there is no man can stand against you. She met the wisest, richest man walking on the earth in those days and she came to hear from him. When she arrived, she could not believe what she saw. The wealth, the organisation, the wisdom that she had heard about. She said, “It’s only half of what I heard!”

I want to say to you today, why is it that you and I, we run to and fro all over the place to seek man’s counsel and advice, when Jesus our Lord is sitting quietly, waiting for us to come to Him. He wants to help us and He wants to guide us?

“Come to Me, all ye who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28

The Lord says: “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

You and I have all the counsel, the power and all the protection at our very disposal - All we have to do is just to ask Him for it. That is exactly what King Solomon did and God granted it to him. Please, today, don’t run all over the place. I think what we do, sometimes, is we hurt God you know. We run everywhere and He is waiting for us. He says, “Call upon Me and I will answer you and I will show you great and mighty things of which you do not know.” You will find that in Jeremiah Chapter 33:3 - That is Jesus’s telephone number.
