Watch What You Say
In the book of Proverbs 29:20 (NKJV) the Lord tells us the following
Do you see a man hasty in his words?
There is more hope for a fool than for him.
The Lord is telling us clearly today we need to watch what we say. I want to tell you, that that particular scripture is very, very pertinent in my own life. I tend to speak before I think, and that is extremely dangerous and can cause a lot of confusion and even hurt at times.
The Lord tells us clearly in the book of Luke 18:12-14 (NKJV)
”I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.’ And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
We need to let the Lord Jesus Christ give us words of wisdom, then we won’t cause ourselves so much heartache and so much pain and we will be a blessing to others.
So, today, before we start to blurt out something, we need to seek first God’s counsel. We need to think about it and then say it. I heard somebody say it once: “Before you say something drastic, count to ten and by the time you get to ten, you probably won’t say it”. So today watch what you say and ask the Holy Spirit to give you words of wisdom.
Jesus bless you
