Peer Pressure

Matthew 14:7 (NKJV)

Therefore he promised with an oath to give her whatever she might ask.

We read in God’s Word that because of peer pressure, King Herod was forced to do something he didn’t really want to do.  He had John the Baptist’s head cut off and served on a platter to the daughter of Herodias, his brother’s wife, because of pressure from the people.  He had made an oath, and he could not break it.

We need to be so careful, in this day and age, that we are not persuaded by the crowd to do things that we don’t really want to do. This applies to all of us.  We need to do only what God tells us to do and not what we think we should do to keep the crowd happy, because it never works out, as it didn’t work out for King Herod.

Jesus bless you
