The Christmas Season
In God’s Holy Word, in the gospel of John 15:7 (NKJV), it says:
If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
An anonymous writer wrote “If you are in Christ, and Christ is in you, then the world should see nothing else.”
During this Christmas season, which is a wonderful time of the year, we remember the greatest gift that God gave to us. He gave us His one and only son, Jesus Christ. It is a time for giving and also receiving. But it is also a time of great emotion. People will be gathering together and unfortunately some will not spend Christmas with their cherished loved ones who have either gone home to be with the Lord during the course of this past year, or they are no longer in the country and have emigrated, or are on a contract in some far-off place. So, it is a time where we need to be Jesus to the people. We need to be sensitive. We need to be loving and we need to be extremely careful about what we say.
Because a word spoken idly or without any thought can really hurt someone or even make someone angry. We really need to be Jesus, as the writer said, to the people. They need to see Jesus in us, not us, but Christ in us. In order for that to happen, you and I need to spend lots of time with Jesus, because the more time we spend with Him, hopefully, the people will see Christ and not us.
God bless you at this wonderful time of the year.
Jesus bless you.
