Validity
Validity: Actually supporting the intended point or claim - Oxford Dictionary.
Last weekend I had the awesome privilege of speaking to my favourite crowd: Young, enthusiastic university students. Their hearts are soft, they want the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth - And they want it straight!
In just a few years time they will be running the country and they need to hear the truth in love. We spoke about the Bible and its validity in these troubled times in which we are living.
The heavens were open from the beginning of the meeting, with beautiful praise and worship. Pastor Sias Le Roux, (one of my spiritual sons) welcomed the huge crowd of expectant young folk and the Lord Holy Spirit visited us in a very unique way.
We addressed the ugly apostasy that is rearing its head in the Church all over the World today, and how one cannot serve two masters - it’s either God or mammon. How God hates mediocrity, and luke warm attitudes, especially in the Church (Revelation3:16).
Most importantly, how we may not question, or even attempt to change even a dot or a stroke in God’s Holy scriptures ( Matthew 5:18).
St Augustine said: “The faith will totter if the authority of the Holy Scriptures loses its hold on men. We must surrender ourselves to the authority of Holy Scripture, for it can neither mislead nor be misled”.
We made it very clear that the Bible, “the Word of God is above the Church!” Quoting 15th century Archbishop Thomas Cranmer, a statement He lost his life for, burnt at the stake.
At the end of the service we made an alter call for repentance, and to promise Jesus that with his assistance, we will never, ever compromise His Bible, and the response was quite amazing with just about the whole crowd responding and coming to the front for prayer!
God Bless,
Angus and Jill Buchan.
