Everyone is looking for You

Mark 1:35-37

"Everyone is looking for You".

That is what the disciples said to Jesus when they had been frantically looking for Him, and found Him in a solitary place where He had been praying, and spending time in meditation with His Father!

What about you and me? Do we have our priorities in place, can we honestly say that our quiet time with Jesus every morning takes precedence over everything else on our very busy agendas?

A man or woman of God is only as strong as their prayer life, if Jesus prioritised spending time with His Father as being more important than chasing after the crowds, then we had better do that even much more so. Smith Wigglesworth, the Evangelist who God used to pray for the sick and even raised several people from the dead (documented), said that he never prayed for longer than half an hour, but then again he never let half an hour go past without praying. It is a lifestyle.

If we want to become more effective for Jesus, we must be more prepared than ever before to pray without ceasing. 1 Thessalonians 5:17.

Remember when men work they work, but when men pray God works!

As this dreaded Covid-19 drags on we need to be more disciplined than at the start of this plague. For example, we need to get up in the morning and go to bed at a reasonable hour at night. Be careful what we read and watch on social media and television because all these disciplines can have a negative or a positive effect on our lives.

When asked how my wife Jill and I managed to handle the effect of being tested positive with the coronavirus and having been tested no less than five times before eventually receiving a negative result. We could honestly say we handled it all, the stigma, the isolation, the fear, etc. by spending lots and lots of time in the presence of God, in prayer, scripture reading, and meditation!

If Jesus did it, spending time up the mountain, then how much more should you and I be doing that!

May Jesus be ever close to you during this trying time,

But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not be faint.
