Integrity
John 17:17:
sanctify them by your truth. Your word is truth.
I've been reading an article by Chuck Swindell, who quotes President Dwight Eisenhower as saying:
"The first great need is integrity and high purpose."
If we lose our integrity, we lose our leadership. It doesn't matter whether it's in a rugby team or the workplace, and especially when it's from the pulpit or on the platform. Our "Yes" must be yes and our "No" must be no. As soon as we start telling lies, white lies, or untruths, they will come back to haunt us. People will start to doubt us and eventually will not trust us.
Chuck Swindoll says, in one of his readings: "The supreme quality for a leader is unquestionably integrity (honesty). Without it, no real success is possible." He says, "I think of few ingredients more foundational to being a good leader than knowing yourself and accepting yourself and feeling secure about yourself inside your own skin." In other words, if we cannot trust ourselves, then who can trust us?
Today, let's walk the talk and ensure that our "Yes" is yes and our "No" is no.
Jesus bless you, and goodbye.
