Where Is Your Heart?

If we look at the Gospel of Luke Chapter 12 and verse 34, The Lord Jesus says:

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

I want to ask you a question today.

Where is your heart?

You have had plenty time to think.

Many of us are just champing at the bit.

We want to get going but The Lord is giving us an opportunity to check where our treasure really is, because that is where our heart is.

Philippians Chapter 3 and verse 20, Paul says:

“For our citizenship is in Heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,…”

How many of us are talking about eternity and how many of us are talking about earthly things, because where you spend your time, that is where your heart is and that is what we speak about mostly.

And we really need to take note folks, because we are not here forever.

Like never before in the history of the world, things are changing at a quick rate.

Where is your investment?

Well, The Lord says, “Don’t store up riches on earth where rust and moth will destroy but rather store up your riches in Heaven.”

Remember, the only thing that you and I will take from this earth when we go to Heaven is our loved ones, our fellow-man, people’s souls, thats all - nothing else.

All else will stay behind.

We will go to Heaven the same way we came into this earth, with nothing at all.

So we need to concentrate on things above and not on the things below.

I don’t know if you remember that old chorus we used to sing many years ago,

“Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of the earth,
will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.”

I have a green passport.

I am a citizen of South Africa.

I don’t know what your citizenship is on this earth but we have one common passport when we go to Heaven.

And I think that you will find that passport in one scripture verse in the Bible.

John Chapter 3 and verse 16 - the most famous verse in the 66 books of the Bible:

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”

That is our passport, our citizenship is in Heaven and lets concentrate on the life to come.
