Rest

He will do it!

You say to me, “Do what, Angus?”

He will see you through. He will make a way where there seems to be no way.

If we look at the Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 11 and from verse 28, in the New King James Version, this is what it says:

“Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

“Faithful is He who has called you who will also do it.” 1 Thessalonians 5:24.

Maybe you have woken up this morning and you are feeling,

“Lord, I don’t know how I am going to carry on. I am in my last year at university. I am trying to do practicals and I just can’t get off the farm.”

That is what my oldest grand-daughter must be saying. She has nearly finished her degree but she just cannot complete it without doing those practicals and she is in lockdown.

But we are “confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you, shall perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians Chapter 1 and verse 6.

I want to say to you today that we need to step out and keep going forward, because He will do it.

I remember fondly, in the year - wow! - 1989, some of you were not even born then, when I had a clear word from The Lord to go to the little town of Ladysmith which is very close to us,
and to book the town hall for the very first outreach I was ever going to have in my life.

I was so nervous.

I said goodbye to Jill and the children in the morning.

I took a flask of coffee in my pick-up.

I still had my farm clothes on.

And off I drove on my own, with The Holy Spirit, to that town.

On the way in, there is a long road that goes into Ladysmith coming from the Harrismith side.

The Lord asked me three questions, almost audibly, and I can remember them today and wow! - that is almost forty years ago!

The first question, He asked me, “Are you prepared to be a fool for Me?”

Well, I said, “Lord, that’s easy - I am a fool anyway.”

The second question: “Are you prepared for people to say all manner of evil about you for My Name’s sake.”

Well, that was a bit harder but I said, “Lord, I think I can handle that one.”

Then the third one He asked me, I really battled with: “Are you prepared to see less of your family for My Sake.”

And I had to say, “Lord, only by Your grace.”

And I went into that little town.

We booked the town hall and that was the beginning of Shalom Ministries.

But He did it all the way.

And I want to say to you today, nothing is too hard for God.

All He requires from you is to let Him do it because He will do it!

May God bless you as you have a wonderful weekend and remember, just cast your cares upon Him because He really cares for you.
