He Cares For Me

He cares for me!

The Lord Jesus Christ cares for His people!

He cares for you too, my friend if you put your trust in Him.

The Bible tells us very clearly in the Book of Matthew, Chapter 6, and verse 33: “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these (other) things shall be added unto you.”

I remember so clearly as a young believer, a follower of Jesus Christ - you know folks, the greatest surprise for me was that He cares for you and me.

Cast your cares upon Jesus because He cares for you. 1Peter 5:7

I had a young family.

I had five children, all under the age of 12 years old, and I put all my money into one crop - not always a good thing to do.

I had all my eggs in one basket.

I was a seed-maize farmer, a very expensive crop to grow.

And when that crop was standing, beautiful, 6.8 ft tall, it was green, it was young, it was pushing young mealie cobs - it was a beautiful crop!

I used to panic and I used to become afraid because, in the afternoons, it would get hot and sultry in the summer months, and those maize plants were so vulnerable to hail - and in our area, we get a lot of hail in the summer, sometimes, hail so big, it will even split corrugated iron.

I would get into bed at night in my little house with my wife and children, and often I would not sleep because I would hear the thunder and the lightning, and I would wonder, “Is my crop going to get wiped out or is it going to be standing in the morning?”

But when I gave my life to The Lord, 1 Timothy Chapter 6:6, “Now godliness with contentment is great gain”, I knew that The Lord would take care of my crop.

And I used to lie in bed and the thunder and the lightning would be going on around us and I would say, “Lord, if this crop gets wiped out by hail, then you have another plan for me because I am only Your manager now. I am no longer in control as it were.”

And I can hear somebody listening to this little message, thinking, “But Angus, you were like an ostrich with your head in the sand.”

No, I wasn’t! I was living by faith and I would sleep like a baby and in the morning I would get up strong and ready for work, go out and look at that magnificent crop of maize and give all the glory to God and I have lived like that all my farming years.

I want to encourage you today to remember that Jesus cares for you so cast your cares upon Him because He cares for you. 1 Peter Chapter 5 and verse 7.

Have a wonderful day and remember He loves you. He even died for you.
