Trust God

It is Saturday morning, 20th November 2021, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for the day.

“No king is saved by the multitude of an army;
A mighty man is not delivered (not beaten) by great strength.
A horse is a vain hope for safety;
Neither shall it deliver any by its great strength.
Psalm 33 from verse 16

Listen to this, verse 18:

Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him,
On those who hope in His mercy,
To deliver their soul from death,
And to keep them alive in famine.”

One of my favourites is Psalm 20:7:

“Some trust in chariots, and some in horses;
But we will remember the name of the Lord our God.”

Never put your trust in the arm of flesh, we must trust only in the Lord our God. In times of drought, we don’t look at the clouds, we trust in the Lord. In times of sickness, we don’t look at the arm of flesh, we keep our eyes on the Great Physician. In times of financial stress, we don’t run to and fro from this bank to that bank, we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus.

In times of hardship, we shall not be ashamed, we will not be put down. We will not be distressed - We will stand! Ephesians 6:14. We put the armour of God on and we stand. We don’t turn and we don’t run because there is no protection in the back. The armour of God is only in the front. We look the devil in the eye and we draw a line in the sand, we say: “This far devil, no further.” Remember, Jesus will open the Red Sea before us. He did it for Moses and the Israelites and He will do it for you and me.

Stand still and see the glory of God, for the enemies you see today you will see no more forever, for the Lord will fight for you.
Exodus 14:13-14.

That Red Sea is not a pond it is an ocean. The most powerful army in the world was coming upon them, they were stuck between a rock and a hard place. Maybe you are there today - Put your trust in the Lord, He will deliver you. He has been doing it for me for as long as I have put my trust in Him - 42 years. He has never once let me down and I know He will not do it now.

God bless you as you have a wonderful Saturday and keep your focus on Jesus, not your situation. That mountain will be reduced to a mere molehill.

God bless you and goodbye.
