Our Weatherman

It is Saturday morning, 11th December, the year 2021, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

“And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!”

Mark 4:41

Oh yes - That is the Lord Jesus Christ! He is our Weatherman, He is the Rainmaker! There is a beautiful song and it goes like this:

I know the Master of the wind
And I know the Maker of the rain.

That is the Lord! Every farmer studies the weather because it is so important to him and I want to tell you that I am no exception. Very, very early this morning I went out for a ride on my bike and the sun was not quite coming up. There was a cloud behind it and I looked to the North West and folks, I saw a rainbow. I have never seen a rainbow at 5 a.m. and it was beautiful. Now, we go to Genesis 9:13 - yes, this is all about Noah... The Lord says:

“ I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth”.

The Lord made a covenant with Noah that He would never, ever flood the earth again. I don’t know where you are today. I don’t know what mountain you are facing. I don’t know whether it is sickness or separation from family; whether it is a future that you don’t know anything about; or maybe you don’t have work for next year. Maybe your business has gone bankrupt or you have got a child that is sick.

Some people are bringing a baby today who has leukaemia. The baby is not yet two years old and I am believing for a miracle. Who is this Man that even the wind and the sea obey Him. Surely He is the Son of God! (Matthew 8:27)

The Lord Jesus Christ is firmly on the throne - Nothing fazes Him. It doesn’t matter what the politicians say, it doesn’t matter what the experts say. I tell you that He is alive and I tell you I saw Him in a rainbow early this morning. And I want to tell you that He loves you so much, that He even died for you on a cross. This is Christmas time, it is the time when Jesus came down from Heaven to Earth in the form of a defenceless baby. He loves you and he wants you, today, to look up because your redemption draws near.
