United We Stand

It is Monday morning, 20th December, the year 2021, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
For brethren to dwell together in unity!”

“For there the Lord commanded the blessing -
Life forevermore.”

Psalm 133:1 & 3

We need to get on together, there is strength in unity. There is no place for one-man shows. There are no lone rangers in the Kingdom of God. We need to stand together, especially now in this holiday season. We are all together. We need to work at it.

“And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”

Ecclesiastes 4:12

It is quite easy to break a single cord or even a double cord, but not a threefold cord. That is what we always preach at the marriage ceremonies, don’t we? Yes, it is the husband, it is the wife and in the middle is the Lord Jesus Christ. That is the marriage that will not be broken. Remember, the family that prays together, stays together.

In the days of the Roman Empire, they would say, “Divide and rule!” That is what they would do - they would break a country down. But we say, “United we stand!” We have got to stand together, mom and dad, boys and girls, brothers and sisters. This is the time for the family of God to stay in unity.

“Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.”

1 John 4:11

If you look at any team sport you will see, whether it is rugby or football, the team that normally wins is the team that plays together. It is not the team with individual stars in it - That team normally doesn’t work. It is the team that plays together and we need to pray together.

This Christmas time, let's stand united in the love of God.

Have a wonderful day as you go out and love somebody today.
God bless you and goodbye.
