Amen

I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Thursday morning, the 24th of November, 2022, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

“Blessed be the Lord God of Israel
From everlasting to everlasting!
And let all the people say, “Amen!”
Praise the Lord!”
Psalm 106:48

“Amen” means “so be it”. It means many other things too. It means, “we agree”, “let it happen”, and “unity amongst the folk.” It clears the air. I have read that even the devil and his demons must flee when God’s people agree together on a statement which brings glory to the name of Jesus.

When you hear tens of thousands of men proclaiming and agreeing that Jesus is Lord, it makes the very hair on your arms stand up. I even heard that a school rugby team had adopted “Amen!” as their war cry before they commenced their rugby match, but please, don’t use the word thoughtlessly. You see, it means “Lord Jesus, I have confidence in You that what I have asked will happen.” That is why at the end of a prayer we say, “Amen.” At the Mighty Men Conference meeting that we had at Shalom farm in 2010, when over 400,000 men shouted, “Amen” they could hear the echo miles away they told us.

One man, when being interviewed by a television company and asked why he had come, he answered, “I came because I wanted to hear the Mighty Men “Amen” call for myself."

Go out today, tell people about Jesus and don’t be afraid to say, “Amen” - So be it!

God bless you and have a wonderful day.
Goodbye.
