Be Kind

A very good morning to you - I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Wednesday morning, the 28th of September 2022, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for the day.

“Thus says the Lord: “Execute judgment and righteousness, and deliver the plundered out of the hand of the oppressor. Do no wrong and do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, or the widow, nor shed innocent blood in this place.”
Jeremiah 22:3

“And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.”
Matthew 25:40

The best investment that anyone can make is to be generous and kind to the poor, to the old, to those who have no form of self-defence, and to the needy. We make the best investment that we can ever make when we help them. You know, to be poor is not a sin. Always remember that. I am talking particularly to young people. When you see an old man walking down the street don’t despise him because he is poor. You don’t know what he has lost in this life. To be poor is not a sin. To be lazy is a sin. A lazy man doesn’t deserve to eat the Bible tells us. Many folks just need a break, so don’t judge a book by its cover.

We see a tramp sitting all alone on a bench at the seaside. He is tattered, he is unkempt and unshaven and we tend to judge him by his appearance. That man might have lost his family in a car crash and he just cannot come to terms with it. That man might have been through some devastating event in his life, and he just cannot pull himself together, but a loving arm around him, some money in his pocket to buy a nice hot meal and maybe a nice new jacket might be just what he needs to turn him around again. We need to show much more love, compassion and mercy. Jesus says, “When you do that you have done it to Me”.

Let us not be so quick to be mean today. Give that waitress a good tip, that car guard a handsome tip because he is trying his best.

Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.
Goodbye
