Our Food

A very good morning to you, it is Tuesday morning the 8th of February, the year 2022. And this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

“My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.”

John 4:34

We cannot live without food and we cannot complete the task unless we finish it properly. Food is life, if you don’t eat, you die - That’s a fact... Many people walking around today are dead - Their hearts might be pumping but there is no life in them.

Food is to do the will of Jesus Christ and to finish His work. That is the most important part - The Lord is not interested in good starters, He wants good finishers. The least effective way to preach the Gospel is behind the pulpit or on a platform. Now I know a lot of pastors won’t be happy with that statement but it is a fact. I know, I am a preacher.

That truck driver listening, I want you to drive that truck for Jesus today. That gold miner, be the best gold miner that there is. The shop assistant - put a smile on your face today madam, and let the people know who you belong to. That school teacher... you have got an instant congregation every day of the week. That is your meat, that is your food. That sports coach, you can do it - You can encourage people.

I have got a son, his name is Sipho. He is a professional rugby player and he is also a school teacher, he coaches young children in rugby. I want to tell you he is more popular than any youth pastor I have ever met. He is doing it for Jesus.

I want to tell you about Eric. Eric started one of the biggest fast-food franchises in the Southern Hemisphere, that’s right. Some people call him Mr Wimpy but he started and he is still doing it and He is still active for the Lord Jesus Christ. He swims in the Indian Ocean every morning. He rides his mountain bike every day and he is 87 years young!

I want to tell you about June. June is a Bible translator, she translates the word of God for Wycliffe Bible Translators. I met her in Mozambique many, many years ago when I was using the big yellow Seed Sower to preach the Gospel. She was living in a very small little home in a big township with very few amenities, living by herself. She was translating the Bible so that the local people could read God’s word. Nobody knows about her and by the way she is still doing it, even today. We need to do the will of Him who sent us and to finish His work.

Come on now today. Let's stand up, dust ourselves off and get back in the race. Jesus needs you to tell people about His second coming.

God bless you and have a wonderful day.
Goodbye.
