Do Not Compromise

A very good morning to you! It is Friday morning, the 21st of October 2022, and I greet you in Jesus’ name! This is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

“Now as he reasoned about righteousness, self-control, and the judgement to come, Felix was afraid and answered, “Go away for now; when I have a convenient time I will call for you.”
Acts 24:25

Life doesn’t seem fair, does it? Felix knew that what Paul, the Apostle, was telling him was true but he was convicted and he said, “I will send for you again.” But do you know something? He was left in jail for two years and then Festus succeeded Felix, as the new governor. I want to say to you that the world’s system is not an advantage for the believer, but Jesus warned us about this. He said, in John 16:33: 

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

In the world system, when you bend the rules and you tell a little white lie here and there, you often get a promotion. When you start doing favours for the boss which are illegal, you come up the ladder very quickly, but, it doesn’t last. When you sell your soul for a mere morsel of temporary food it eventually backfires.  

I think of Joseph in the Bible, He was dealt a lot of bad blows, first of all by his brothers and then of course by Potiphar. Joseph would not conform and then he was put in jail. The men in jail were supposed to speak up for him and they forgot, but God was with him. Because he was a righteous, honest and godly man, he became the Prime Minister of Egypt, the most powerful country in the world. Do not compromise for any man. God will promote you!
