God's Favour

A very good morning to you. I greet you in Jesus' precious name. It is Wednesday morning, the 24th of August 2022, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

God's favour! Let's go to the first book in the Bible, Genesis 41:42:

“Then Pharaoh took his signet ring off his hand and put it on Joseph’s hand; and he clothed him in garments of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck.”

And then we go down to verse 46:

“Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Egypt.”

God's favour! When we do it God's way, then He will do the rest. I want to say to young people today, do the right thing. That's it! Pay your accounts when they are due, be no man's debtor. Work with your own money and not with someone else's money. Don't keep anybody waiting. I can hear a young man saying, “but that's not good business, Uncle Angus.” I want to tell you, it is very good business. If you owe somebody something, pay them when it's due or preferably before it's due. Why? So that you can receive God's favour. Don't use what is not yours.

Joseph fled from Potiphar’s wife when she tried to seduce him because he knew that she did not belong to him. She was the wife of another man. Don't play the fool. Don't think you can have an affair and get away with it. Why? Because God knows everything. Joseph did what God expected of him and God blessed him.

The Bible says in Romans 6:23:

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life…”

You can't fool all the people all of the time and you certainly can't fool God. In one supernatural miracle, God took a Hebrew slave from prison and made him the Prime Minister of the most powerful nation on earth at that time. Why? Oh, well he was very lucky? Not at all. He obeyed God and he did the right thing.

My old dad was a country blacksmith. We never had a lot of money in our home but my dad made sure he paid everything he owed. It brings a tear to my eye - when he was dying in his old age I used to visit him and I had the power of attorney to look after his affairs, and the first thing he would always ask me was, “Angus, is there enough money left in the account?” I said, “Dad, there's plenty of money left in the account,” and he died peacefully. Do the right thing and God will honour you.

Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day,
Goodbye.
