Give It To The Lord

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Wednesday morning, the 6th of September, 2023, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

If we go straight to the Gospel of Philippians 1:6, Paul says: "…

Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;…"

I want to ask you a question this morning. Do you feel like giving up? Ja, I know that feeling. Do you feel like, "Lord, this journey is just too long, this mountain is just too high and I don't think I am going to make it." I have got good news for you. It's the Lord Jesus Christ, Himself, who is affirming this morning that He is the one who will complete the task He has given you to do. Our confidence is not in ourselves but rather in Jesus Christ, our beloved Lord and Saviour. You see, this truth takes all the pressure off you and me from the things we are trying to accomplish on our own. So often, we give it to the Lord and we take it back, and we give it to the Lord and take it back. Don't do that, that is what is making us tired.

We must never be afraid of the storm when Jesus Christ is in the vessel. Christ said to us, "Let's go over to the other side, not to the middle of the lake - and be drowned." No, He is taking us to the other shore, and you and I need to remember that. I don't know how many times I have said to the Lord, especially as a young farmer, "Lord, I am just not going to make it. It's not raining, the crops are failing, we owe money to people, I have got a young family", and I go on and on." And the Lord says, "Whoa, whoa, whoa, you must be confident of this very thing, that I, who have called you, will also do it."

Now, today, keep your eyes fixed on the Captain of the ship and don't try and sail it yourself. You handed over your life to the Lord, now let Him take control. You work hard, do your best and leave the rest to Him, and we will see you on the other side.

Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.
Goodbye.
