Helping Others

I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Saturday morning, it is the 1st of April, 2023, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.” 
2 Corinthians 8:9

You see, it is in helping others that we ourselves become rich. Jesus left His home in Heaven and came down to earth to help you and me. Though He was rich in everything, yet He chose to become poor so that you and I could become rich. How beautiful is that?

The Lord has set the pace, He has set the benchmark and He says we must go out into the world and do the same.

“Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature.” 
Mark 16:15

Time is running out. You see, it's in giving that you receive. Acts 20:35 says it is more blessed to give than to receive. You can never out-give the Lord. He is a Giver by nature. The more we give Him, the more He gives back to us. I have experienced it in my own life because He loves us so much. We don’t give to get back, we give because we love Him.

Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”  
John 15:13

Are you feeling sick today? I challenge you to go and find someone sicker than you and pray for them and you will be surprised how well you become. You see, we have got to take our eyes off ourselves and put our eyes on others. It is like a little boy walking down the street with his mom and complaining bitterly that he doesn’t have any shoes to wear until he sees another little boy getting pushed passed him in a pram because he has got no feet. We need to look outward. We need to give and the Lord will take care of every single one of our needs because He loves us so much.

Go out today and bless somebody and love someone and you will find that your day will be so much better.
