Invest In The Kingdom

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Friday morning, the 21st of July, 2023, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

We start in the Book of Deuteronomy 25:4, and the exact same scripture in 1 Corinthians 9:9:

"For it is written in the law of Moses, "You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain."

Wow! A fair day's work for a fair day's pay. You see, in the old days, they would get oxen and span them and make them walk around in circles, pour the grain out and the oxen would tread the grain and thrash it ready for milling. They would always feed the oxen as much as he could eat because he was working so hard. You can never pay too much for good land, you can never pay too much for a good animal - a good bull. One old stockman told me years ago, "Don't be scared to pay too much for a good bull because he is half of the herd, so whatever that herd of cattle is worth, you should be able to pay as much as half the price of the herd for a good bull."

Just the other day, my son told me that a bull went for over R4 Million. That is a lot of money. You can buy a couple of farms for that, and it sounds ridiculous, but wise men did that because they wanted good blood in their herds. You can never pay too much for a good vehicle, and most of all, you can never pay too much for a good worker. You see, you can pay too little. If you pay too little, you get a poor worker, if you pay a little money for a vehicle, it will let you down, and you will regret that day. You pay too little for an animal and it won't perform, but if you pay lots of money, as much as you can afford, for a good animal, a good piece of ground, it will yield a good crop. We are to work hard, we are to buy the best seed and we will always reap a good crop. Even in a poor year, it will yield well. Most of all, we need to invest in the Kingdom of God, and then we will reap a good crop. Give Jesus your first fruit every single morning. Spend time with Him, young lady, young man. "Oh, I don't have time. I have got to study for my exams." I want to tell you, spend more time with the Lord first and He will enlighten you, and you will be surprised at how well your exams will go.

"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."
Matthew 6:33

Have a wonderful day,
Jesus bless you and goodbye.
