Glorious Victory

And a very good morning to you! It is Saturday morning, 16th of April, the year 2022. And this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

“My soul, wait silently for God alone,
For my expectation is from Him.”

Psalm 62:5

Are you feeling disappointed this morning? I looked up the Oxford Dictionary the meaning of the word, disappointed. It is: “To be sad or displeased because one’s hopes or expectations have not been fulfilled.”

We need to ask a question today - Who are we putting our expectations in, man or God? You see, it is not fair to put your hope or your expectation in a person because that person cannot fulfil your dream, only Jesus can. Now the disciples went through this very thing:

“Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.”
They said to him, “We are going with you also.”

John 21:3

Have you ever felt like that, like your dreams have been shattered? For three years they had walked with Jesus, they saw Him walk on water - No-one has ever done that before!

They saw Him raise the dead. They saw Jesus heal the sick, cast out demons and even change the weather. They used to sit together and argue about who was going to sit next to Him in Heaven and then everything collapsed, right in front of their very eyes. Jesus died, was crucified and buried in a tomb. The Roman soldiers were hunting Him down.

Maybe today you are feeling like that as well. Maybe you are dealing with a broken relationship; maybe a business deal that failed miserably. Maybe a child of yours who you were hoping would do so well has disappointed you or you have just come back and you have a doctor’s report where they say they cannot help you anymore. I have good news for you, it is not over yet, do not give in! You and I are on the brink of a mighty miracle!

Jesus is in the habit of turning a potential disaster into a glorious victory - Only believe! Wait for tomorrow, it's on its way!

Jesus bless you. Have a wonderful day.
Goodbye.
