Mindful of You

A very good morning to you! It is Wednesday morning, the 20th of April 2022 and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for the day.

If we go to Psalm 8, I am reading from verse 4:

“What is man the You are mindful of him,
And the son of man that You visit him?
For You have made him a little lower than the angels
And You have crowned him with glory and honour
You have made him to have dominion
over the works of Your hands;
You have put all things under his feet…”

What a beautiful scripture! The Lord loves us so much that He has put all creation under our feet, literally. God cares for you my dear friend and He cares for me. If we go to Matthew 8:25, the disciples were in the boat. It was sinking but Jesus was sleeping. They woke Him up and they said, “Save us, Lord, we are perishing!” They thought that they would drown in the storm but Jesus saved them and He wants to save you today... Save you from yourself, actually.

You know, Peter the big fisherman had so disgraced himself that he never thought that Jesus would ever have anything more to do with him. Remember, after saying to the Lord that he would die for Him, he denied Him three times. The Lord knew that and when he sent the angel to tell the disciples in Mark 16:7 telling them to go to Galilee and to wait for Him… Let’s read it, starting from verse 6:

“Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him. (Now, listen to this!) But go, tell His disciples - and Peter - that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you.”

He knew that Peter would not come because he felt so terrible. The Lord said, “Tell the disciples... and Peter.” That is how much the Lord Jesus Christ loves us - It is a miracle! Do you know, the Lord knows us individually by name. And do you know that He has given each one of us individual fingerprints? Now they say there are approximately 7.5 billion people on the earth at the moment and yet there is not another person who has the same fingerprints as you! Never mind the billions that have gone before us. He loves us and He cares for us.

Do you know the word mindful? I looked it up in the dictionary, it means to be aware of something - He is aware of you. We had an old couple that came to join us on the farm, Uncle Jimmy and Aunty Moira. They just arrived here one day. He said, "God has told me to come and help you." And so I said, "That’s fine." We put them in a little cottage and they came to stay with us. When Uncle Jimmy was dying, on his deathbed, he used to call me, “Jock”, he said to me, “Jock, take care and be mindful of Aunty Moira.” I gave him my word and I said, "Until the day she dies..." and I did but I want to tell you, Jesus loves us so much.

Our Heavenly Father said in the most famous verse in the Bible, John 3:16, for God so loved you and me that He gave us His only begotten Son. Have a wonderful day and remember, He loves you and He is mindful of you!
