His Strength

I greet you in Jesus' precious name. It is Sunday morning, 14th of August, 2022 and this is your friend Angus Buchan with a thought for today.

“Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the Lord our God.”

Psalm 20:7

And then straight into the New Testament to the book of Philippians:

“…being confident of this very thing that He, who has begun a good work in. will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

Phillipians 1:6

The system of this world is all about 'you can do it'. You've got it in you, you make it happen. It's all about us and not about the Lord. Now, you know, Cassius Clay, Muhammad Ali, his favorite saying was, “I am the greatest”. You know that he was an excellent athlete, an incredible boxer but if he had put his trust in Jesus Christ, he could have become exceptional - Our confidence must be in God and not in ourselves.

You see my greatest enemy? My greatest handicap is not the devil - No, it's Angus Buchan, that's the absolute truth...

“I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me .”

Philippians 4:13

The emphasis of that scripture is not on the 'I' but rather Christ who strengthens me. Every single time that I am about to embark on a national Christian event I become so aware of just how weak I am. I find myself spending more and more time in isolation with the Lord Jesus because I know, for a fact, that if He is not going to do it, it's not going to happen.

And that's when 2 Corinthians 12:9 becomes a huge neon sign in my life - It's all about grace. The Lord says:

“My grace is sufficient for you, My strength is made perfect through weakness.”

When I'm weak, then I'm strong. That word grace is such a beautiful word. It means undeserved loving kindness, or unmerited favour and when I am weak, then I know that Jesus is strong within me. Try it today, it will take huge pressure off you.

Have a wonderful Sunday.
Jesus bless you and goodbye.
