Unto God
A very good morning to you. I greet you in Jesus’ precious name!
It is Tuesday morning, the 16th of August 2022, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.
“And with these sayings they could scarcely restrain the multitudes from sacrificing to them.” And then the very next verse: “ …they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing him to be dead.”
Acts 14:18-19
One minute, they were worshipping him and saying he was a god. The very next minute they were stoning him and left him for dead. We cannot look to man for our accolades or our rewards, because one day you are a winner and the next, a loser. The same thing happened to our Lord Jesus when He rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. He was worshipped by the people. They were laying down palm branches, leaves and even their very own clothes so that the donkey could walk upon them - but a few days later, the same crowd were calling out, “Crucify Him.”
Our reward must only come from our Heavenly Father, otherwise, we are going to be sorely disappointed. Just like the rugby player who is having a magnificent game and is deemed to be the man of the match, but just before the final whistle is blown, he misses a vital kick, a penalty to win the match, and he instantly becomes the absolute enemy of the whole crowd.
Whatever we do in this life, we must do it as unto Jesus and look to Him alone for our reward, otherwise, we will be like a virtual rollercoaster - one minute we will be on top of the world, and the next minute we will be down in the dumps. When you go out today do everything as unto God and He will reward you.
Have a very special day.
Jesus bless you and goodbye.
