He is Faithful

He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.
— 1 Thessalonians 5:24

“He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.” 1 Thessalonians 5:24

What a beautiful promise for you and me this morning from the Lord Jesus Christ! The faithfulness of God - You see, God cannot be unfaithful because it is against His nature. One of my favourite scriptures:

“God is not a man, that He should lie,
Nor a son of man, that He should repent.
Has He said, and will He not do?
Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?
Numbers 23:19

God is dependable, we can depend on Him!
In these terrible days in which we are living, we must concentrate on the faithfulness of God and not on ourselves or our own plans. You know the old saying: The farmer makes a plan - In Afrikaans, they say: 'n boer maak ’n plan.

Well, I want to tell you, not one of my plans has ever worked out. But the amazing thing is, if your heart is right, your motives are pure and your eyes are fixed on the Lord - He will come through for you. Even if you have made an honest mistake or you have made a decision, you’ve gone the wrong way, you have gone down the wrong street... He will turn you around and He will make it work out for good.

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
Romans 8:28

Our faithfulness today is not in our ability but it is in God’s ability. Do you know what the fireman’s lift is?

Okay, you are in a tight spot - Maybe you are hanging off the edge of a building, I don’t know. Maybe your house is on fire and that faithful man comes through the roof and he says: “Take a hold of my arm.” You put your hand on his arm and you hold it and he holds your arm with his hand.

Even when you say, “I can’t anymore, I can’t hold on anymore.” He says, “Don’t worry! I have got you!” - Jesus has got you and me! Let us be anxious for nothing but in all things with prayer and supplication, make our requests known to God. God never changes.

Have a wonderful day today as you take your eyes off your ability and you start putting your eyes on the faithfulness of the Lord Jesus Christ. He will pull you through - He has pulled me through many, many times.

Over the last fifty years of farming, he has never failed me once. He is not going to fail you today.
God bless you and have a wonderful day.
