Miracles

A very good morning to you. I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Friday morning, 26th of August 2022, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

“Then he called for a light, ran in, and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas. And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”
Acts 16:29 & 31

You know, here at Shalom, we say, “One genuine miracle equals a thousand sermons.” It all comes down to one thing, doesn't it? - Faith in God! (Mark 11:22) Paul and Silas were in chains in prison, praying and singing hymns at midnight. All the other prisoners were listening and then suddenly, a miracle happened - an earthquake. It shook the prison, opened the doors and released them from their chains. I can hear somebody say, “Oh, well that was just a coincidence.” Oh, no, sir, that was not a coincidence. That was a God incident so miraculous that the jailer was about to commit suicide, thinking that all the prisoners had escaped, but they were all there and accounted for. They said to him, “Don't do that”, and he said, “What must I do to be saved?”

Maybe somebody's asking that question this morning. What must I do to alleviate this crisis I am going through? This bankruptcy, this divorce, this barren womb, this sickness, this depression - what must I do? Well, you must do exactly what the disciples told the jailer to do. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you and your household will be saved. Maybe somebody is saying, “But that was for those days. That's not for now.” No, it is indeed for now. Hebrews 13:8 says Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forevermore.

I want to ask you a question. What miracle are you looking for in your life today? Oh, I've seen so many miracles in my life. I really have and no one will ever, ever tell me otherwise. I know that my Redeemer lives. Job, another farmer said that. I want to pray for you this morning.

Father,

I want to pray for my dear friend. We are living in perilous times. Lord, things are getting tough all the way around, economically, politically, and morally. Lord, it looks like everything is coming to a standstill, yet we know that you are the One who said call unto Me. We are calling unto You this morning, Lord Jesus. We are asking you to increase our faith to believe You for our miracle.

In Jesus name.
Amen.

Have a wonderful day and believe for that miracle.
Goodbye.
