Pray Together
I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Thursday morning, the 13th of October 2022, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.
“For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
Matthew 18:20
“But go, tell His disciples—and Peter—that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you.”
Mark 16:7
That is what the Angel of the Lord told them at the tomb when Jesus had risen from the dead. “Tell the disciples -- and Peter…”. That is why I love Jesus so much. He is the God of the mountains, the sea and the great miracles but He is also the God of the individual. He is the God that is concerned about the sparrow that falls from the tree. I love Him so much! Peter had denied Jesus three times and the Lord knew, that is why He told the Angel to say to the disciples, “Go to Galilee and I will see you there.” He knew that Peter wouldn’t come because Peter had disgraced himself so badly. That is why He said, “Tell the disciples — and Peter —…” I want to cry. He is such a wonderful Saviour, isn’t He? He used Peter to head up His church. We need not neglect the gathering of the brethren.
Jesus is always waiting and available to meet with us. I have had the privilege of being at international and national prayer meetings where we have prayed together with sometimes over a million of us at one time, and it is very special. I will never forget it. I will never forget the presence of the Holy Spirit. But when we meet on a Wednesday morning at 5 o’clock in the little chapel on our farm, Shalom, with sometimes half a dozen to a dozen people, it is so special.
Do not neglect the gathering of the brethren. When we pray together, Jesus is there. Now if Jesus is there, the devil is not there. He cannot go anywhere where the Lord is, so today continue to pray together and you will sense and appreciate the presence of a very special Savior.
God bless you and goodbye.
