Re-Focus
I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Monday morning, the 9th of October, 2023, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.
"The Lord is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life;
Of whom shall I be afraid?"
Psalm 27:1
Then we go to the Book of Hebrews 13:6:
"The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?"
Like never before, my dear friend, we must put our total trust in our creator and not so much in His creations. We have an old saying, "We back the jockey more than we back the horse." Yes, I ride horses and I want to tell you that the horse is very important, but I have seen it many times before when we have a trainer who comes over from the United States of America, a real cowboy, and he gets on a troublesome horse. It is quite something to see. It brings a tear to my eye sometimes. A horse that no one else can ride, that rider gets onto that horse, and the horse just quietens down. It's like the horse knows that this rider is not taking any nonsense, and furthermore, he knows exactly what he is doing, and with that, the horse quietens down and conforms to whatever the rider requires.
You and I need to focus more on the Lord Jesus Christ and less on things which can change in the twinkling of an eye, like the economic situation, the weather pattern, our physical health, our businesses, our employment, our careers, our degrees. If we keep trusting them, we will fail miserably. The situation sobers up very quickly when we don't know what tomorrow holds. We need to put our faith today in the rider, and He is the one who is coming back soon to take you and me to be with Him in Heaven forever. He is riding on a white charger. He is the Commander of the Armies of Heaven. His name is Jesus, and He loves you so dearly.
Have a good day today as you re-focus and put your trust in your creator.
God bless you and goodbye.
