Seek The Lord

It is Monday morning, the 3rd of April, 2023. I greet you in Jesus' precious Name - this is your friend Angus Buchan with a thought for today.

We start off in 2 Corinthians 9:8:

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

Only do what God tells you to do. Before we make a serious decision, we need to get confirmation through the Word of God and our loved ones - Those that we really trust and respect. Matthew 7:8, Jesus says he who seeks finds.

When I'd just become a new Christian, I was very zealous for the Lord, as was my wife, Jill and our children. I decided to go up to the mountains to fast and pray for 6 days and 6 nights, drinking only water. I'll never forget the day - Jill and the children, they were very small - the five of them stood at that little garden gate, waving goodbye to me. You can imagine my wife was quite concerned because I thought that Jesus was going to tell me to give our farm away, to go to Bible college and become a minister, a pastor. But you see, when I was up on those mountains and was sitting quietly before the Lord, this beautiful scripture came up when I was doing my daily devotion. I was reading my Bible systemically, not jumping around. The way I interpreted the scripture, 2 Corinthians 9:8, was to stay on the farm to make a place for the Holy Spirit to move and to take care of the poor and the needy. When I came home Jill was standing at the gate again waiting for me but there was a big smile on her face, I said do you know what the Lord's told me? She smiled and said yes she does. We went into the bedroom, sat down with our Bibles and the exact scripture, 2 Corinthians 9:8, was the same scripture the Lord had given to Jill. We didn't even know what books each other was reading. We pray together every day but we have separate quiet times. That is confirmation and of course, the rest, as they say, is history!

Today, seek the Lord - Don't rush into a decision you going to make, He will confirm it as many times as you require. Don't rush around and God will direct your path.

Have a wonderful day, Jesus bless you and goodbye.
