Simple Gospel

I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Friday morning, the 9th of June, 2023, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. 

We start in the Gospel of John. It is absolutely one of my favourite scriptures, and this is what it says: 

“I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
John 14:6 

“who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshipped and served the creature rather than the creator"
Romans 1:25

You and I need to disentangle ourselves from the lie. We need to walk in the truth. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is very simple. There are no attachments. There is nothing to get entangled by. We need to speak the truth in love. We need to keep away from old wives’ tales. I am talking about reading tea leaves in tea cups. I am talking about the tales we hear from our grandparents. We need to keep away from that and we need to speak the truth in love.  

You know, I have a picture in my mind of beautiful crystal clear water coming out of a fountain, out of the ground. There is no contamination whatsoever. It is pure, it is clean and there are no impurities in it. That is exactly how the Gospel of Jesus Christ is. It is pure, it is clean and there are no attachments. We need to tell people that they don’t need to have a degree in theology to meet the Man from Galilee. Jesus says unless you and I become like little children we will never see the Kingdom of God, and that is what I love about our faith, it is so simple. No one is excluded because of a lack of education, or intelligence - no. Jesus came for the whosoever’s. Whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. It's as simple as that, Romans 10:13. So don’t allow your faith to become contaminated by old wives’ tales, but keep it pure, keep it simple, and keep it clean.

Jesus is the One who will lead you home!
