Jesus in Print

And a very good morning to you.

It is Thursday morning, the 20th of January, the year 2022 and this is your friend, Angus Buchan with a thought for today.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.

John 1:1-2

Who is the Lord speaking about? He’s speaking about Jesus. Yes, Jesus is the Word... Now, if we go to 1 John 5:7 and I’m reading from the New King James Version:

"For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit..."

No, it doesn’t say that - I’ll read it again:

"For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.”

So who is the Word, that’s right it is Jesus - That’s why I love this book so much. Now, if anyone says to you, "Show me this Jesus you’re always talking about.", give them a bible. Why do you think I’ve written on the front of my bible: “My agricultural manual." There’s a reason for it... This book, when I was an active farmer, was my daily direction finder.

I remember going to a Muslim's home once, I was sitting in the lounge with my bible. I put my bible on the carpet next to my chair. He came in with the coffee and He said, "Sir, please don’t put that book on the floor, put it on the coffee table."

With that 20-ton Seed Sower, we took up into Africa, full of food and clothes and bibles... You know something, a lot of those poor folk had no food to eat and hardly any clothes to wear but they weren’t interested in the food. They weren’t interested in the clothes either, they wanted the bible. They would even fight over that book, lest they go without.

This book it’s a friend if you’re lonely. It’s a compass if you are lost and it’s a lawgiver in times of dispute. It never, ever ages, it’s the same yesterday, today and forevermore. Hebrews 13:8. Yes, it’s a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105 but most of all this book never, ever changes in a world which is so uncertain, at the moment.

"Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away."

Mathew 24:35

Spend time in the book of life today and I tell you what, your life will become so much more simplified and so much more fulfilled.

Have a wonderful day, Jesus bless you.
Goodbye.
