The Man Who Died For You

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Sunday morning, the 6th of August, 2023, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

The most well-known scripture verse in the whole Bible is John 3:16:

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

I read a story in a beautiful devotional the other day about a man who went to a church service to listen to the message, but nothing special came out of that message. Right at the end, as the preacher knelt to pray, the preacher said, "Our Lord, You know we can trust the Man who died for us". Isn't that beautiful? "Trust the Man who died for us."

"Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends."
John 15:13

Who can we trust in this day and age? We can't even trust ourselves, can we? But we can trust the Man who died for us! I encourage you today to put your total trust in the Lord. He will not let you down, and He will not let me down. You know, it would be like somebody coming to you and giving you their credit card and PIN number and then saying, "Go and help yourself and take as much money out of the account as you need." I mean, that is incredible, isn't it? You can't say to them, "Well, do you trust me?" Of course not, and that is exactly what our Heavenly Father did for you and me on the Cross of Calvary. He gave His only begotten Son, and said, "He will die for you therefore, you can trust Him completely."

I want to encourage you today to take time out and sit and think about this. You can trust the Man who died for you. If you cannot trust Him, then who can you trust? There is no one else. I put my trust in Him 44 years ago and I want to tell you, my dear friend, I love Him today more than I have ever loved Him in those 44 years. I give Him everything I have: my family, life, vision, ambition, and health because I know He cares for me.

Jesus bless you and have a wonderful Sunday,
Goodbye.
