Watchmen

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Wednesday morning, the 20th of December, 2023, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go to Ezekiel 3:17:

Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me…"

That was one of the foundational scriptures that God used to call me into the work I am doing at present, namely telling people about Jesus Christ. I had a clear picture of a watchman on the top of a castle, and he had a trumpet in his hand. The purpose of that watchman is to keep watch for the people in the city. It is evening time, the people are all settled down, the gates of the castle have been closed so no enemy can come in, and the watchman's purpose is to ensure they are safe. If any enemies are coming, he is to blow the trumpet and warn the people of the ensuing enemy, but unfortunately, the watchman is sound asleep. I saw a picture of the enemy putting ladders on the walls and steadily climbing up to go into the city to destroy it.

You and I have a responsibility; we have an obligation to the world and our families. You see, the scripture is that the Lord has made us watchmen to the House of Israel, which is our own family, to warn them about the soon-coming of the Lord, about the shortage of time. We must warn them about how the devil is coming into many homes in disguise. It all looks entirely innocent, and it all seems quite simple. It is a case of live and let live, but we as watchmen must warn them about truth and righteousness. We need to warn them that our God is a Holy God and love them by telling them the truth.

Today, blow the trumpet and tell the people to prepare themselves for the coming of the Lord.

Jesus blesses you, and goodbye.
