The Principles Of God

I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Sunday morning, the 11th of June, 2023, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

“Even a child is known by his deeds, Whether what he does is pure and right.”
Proverbs 20:11

“You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?”
Matthew 7:16

Of course not. You know folks, even a little child is known by his deeds and his motives, whether what he does is pure and right. Just like we all know so very well that you can never gather grapes from a thorn bush. You don’t have to be a farmer to know that, do you? - or figs from thistles. That is why we need Jesus to help us walk a road of honesty and integrity because, in our natural man, we have no goodness whatsoever.

Even King David, the darling of the Israeli people, the champion of Israel, and David’s City, Jerusalem, named after him, even he said, in Psalm 51:5:

“Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me.”

We are born with sin in us. That is why we need Jesus. Romans 3:23 says

for all, (everyone, sir - for all) have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.”

Now, I am going to offend a couple of grannies here, and I am sorry, granny, that little Johnny, that little grandson of yours, that little Mary, that little granddaughter of yours, she is born in sin. Now, you say, “No ways, she is a little angel. They are absolute angels.” I know, I have eleven myself, but have you ever said to little Mary or little Johnny, “Please just for once be naughty today” - have you ever said that? No, because naturally, they are naughty. You have got to say to them, “Be good,” and teach them the principles of God.

But you know, the good news of God is in Romans 6:23, the Bible says:

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

I want to encourage you, granny and grand-dad, teach your grandchildren the principles of God when they are young, and when they grow old they will not depart from them. We need to live the life, we need to walk the talk, we need to be living examples and ambassadors of Jesus Christ. So today, go out and be Jesus to people who are lost and who are hurting and who need direction.

God bless you and have a wonderful day,
Goodbye.
