Lift Your Heads

And a very good morning to you! It is Monday morning, 28th March, the year 2022. And this is your friend, Angus Buchan with a thought for today.

“Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”

Luke 21:28

Folks, I want to say to you, very soon we will be free, we will be free indeed and forever. I looked up the meaning of the word redemption in the Oxford Dictionary. It means: "A thing that saves someone from error or evil." Not too long before you and I will see Jesus coming in the clouds, that’s right - to take us home to be with Him in Heaven! All the signs are there, everywhere we look.

But the Lord says to us this morning that we need to lift our heads and not look down. Lift our heads because He is coming in the clouds - You see, I am a cloud watcher, I hope you are. It says in the word of God that He will be coming to fetch us. He will be coming in the clouds... The second coming of the Lord!

Now, I am not concerned whether I am alive when He comes at the second coming, or whether He comes to fetch me before. It makes no difference. This Easter is very good time for us to think about eternity, we are not here forever. Many of us need to lift up our eyes, do you know that beautiful scripture in Psalm 121:1-2?

“I will lift up my eyes to the hills - From whence comes my help?
My help comes from the Lord…”

And that is exactly what we are doing! There are many people at the moment, I don’t know if you have noticed, who are going home... That’s right. Old and young, they are going home - I firmly believe that our days were allotted to us on earth before we were even conceived in our mother’s womb, so don’t be afraid of death. Death simply means that we are going to be with Jesus forever! As one person said, it is like opening a door and walking out of one room and into another.

All we need to be sure of is that we are ready, when He calls us. Keep short accounts with men and keep short accounts with God. Be prepared to travel lightly. Now let’s be encouraged because death has lost its sting. It has no hold over the believer because our Redeemer is coming to take us back home to Heaven, where there will be no weeping, there will be no suffering, there will be no pain and we will be reunited with our loved ones.

Have a blessed Monday. God bless you,
Goodbye.
