Collateral
That’s right, you can hear it... It is rain on the roof again - Faithful God! Isn’t He faithful? I love Him so much.
At the very end of his life, King David could still make this statement, “Although my house is not in order, I have repented and I know that He will not fail me.” David messed up very badly towards the end of his life but he repented. He said sorry and he was confident that God still loved him. You see, it is because David knew the Heart of God.
God has guaranteed His covenant with me and with you. He has made it plain and He has made it clear. He has kept every promised word that He has given to us. Yes, my entire salvation and my desire are secure in the knowledge that Jesus Christ never changes.
“I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Hebrews 13:5
He is the one who stands as security for me and you. Jesus vouches for me, He believes in me.
You know, when a young man tries to get started in farming or business and he has no collateral (By the way collateral means no one together with him) it is very hard for him to get started in life. The businessman who is going to lend him the money will say: “Well, what guarantee have you if it doesn’t work out?” So, if he has no collateral he will not get the loan.
We needed someone to stand up for us and back us and you know something - Jesus did it for both you and me.
We need to say sorry. We need to stand up, dust ourselves off and get back into the race. He will not forsake us and when we stand before our Heavenly Father on the day of judgment, our Father is going look to His Son and say, “Why should I let him in?”
“Why should I let him in?”
“Oh Lord, because I know him and I died for him.” And The Father will say, “Let him in! Let her in!”
Have a wonderful day today knowing that we have collateral.
We have Jesus backing us all the way. God bless you.
