Solitude & Silence
If we go to the gospel of Mark 1:35 (NKJV) it says
Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.
Discipline for the Christian is essential if he or she is going to grow in the things of God. What we must remember is, the night before the Lord spent many hours praying for the sick and those who were demon possessed. The whole city, the Bible says, came together, to the door, and He healed many who were sick of various diseases, and He cast out many demons.
But long before the sun came up, where was Jesus? Nowhere to be found. Simon Peter and the other disciples were looking for Him and they could not find Him. Eventually they found Him and said: “Everyone is looking for you Lord, where have you been?” He had been in prayer, and that is the secret of a successful Christian life. The power is found in the presence of God and the way to lock-in with God is to get on your own and spend time in prayer; in scripture reading; and in meditation. Then all the cares and all the problems of this world will disappear like the mist, because the presence of God will be foremost in your lives.
Jesus bless you
