Hardships

In the Bible, the Lord is very explicit about hardships. Tribulation is another way of describing a hardship and probably the apostle that suffered more than any other character in the Bible, apart from maybe Job, was the farmer, Paul. He says in the book of Romans 5:3,4

“And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope.”

What do we always say, no pain, no gain.  There is no way to learn about the secrets of life apart from hardship and times of extreme testing.  When I look back on my own life, I see that the lessons that I learnt the most from were the ones that came through extreme hardship and pain.  So do not be afraid of pain or hardship, through them we will learn life’s very important lessons.

Julius Richter said: “the burden of suffering seems to be a tombstone hung around our necks.  Yet in reality it is simply the weight necessary to hold the diver down when he is searching for pearls”. So true. We need to embrace hardship when it comes and learn from it and remember, the Lord will never allow us to be tempted above that which we are able to handle.  I can hear somebody saying, but I can’t handle it anymore, you will be surprised. Just trust the Lord, and keep going forward and you will get there, you will overcome that hardship and you will grow from it.

Jesus bless you.
