Work Hard

If we look in the book of Proverbs 24:33-34 (NKJV), it says:

A little sleep, a little slumber,
A little folding of the hands to rest;
So shall your poverty come like a prowler,
And your need like an armed man.

There is no excuse for not working hard, irrespective of our age. There is no such word as retirement in the Bible, only promotion - getting promoted eventually to go to heaven. But until that time we need to continue to find things to occupy our time and to help one another. 

There is nothing that I love better than to see a senior citizen rolling up his sleeves and working hard, whether it be in his garden, whether it be helping his son or his daughter, or whether it be taking care of the poor and the needy. It’s when we work hard that God honours us and it also brings much peace and joy into our hearts.  We were created to work, that is how God created us and that’s what we need to do.

To sit down in the corner, as they say, in the waiting room, and wait for the Lord to call us, is a very unhappy place to be. I want to encourage you today that whatever your hand finds to do, do it and do it unto the glory of God.
