A Doorkeeper
Reading Psalm 84 this morning I have to agree wholeheartedly with the writer, that for me to be a doorkeeper in the House of the Lord God even for one day, is far better than to spend a thousand days elsewhere! And the older I get, the more I realise that this World truly holds nothing of any real value for me.
We know the old adage which says: "I've been there, done that, even got the tee shirt", well the truth of the matter is that I have a few of them, tee shirts, and they really don't mean much to me at all. But to have an encounter with the Living God is something that words cannot describe, yes indeed, "Take the World but give me Jesus", for there is nothing else that will suffice.
