The Praying Church
In the book of 1 Thessalonians 5:17, the Bible tells us clearly that we are to “pray without ceasing”.
Andrew Murray said all those many years ago, that the man who mobilises the Christian Church to pray will make the greatest contribution to world evangelisation in history.
You and I have got to become much more serious about prayer, we have to get back into the prayer closet and pray without ceasing if we want God to move on behalf of our beloved Nation!
Having just returned from the Holy Land I have seen with my own eyes, yet again, what the power of corporate prayer has accomplished in just over one week.
With just over two hundred pilgrims praying together at all the sacred sites in Israel we saw the hand of the living God move tangibly amongst us.
People were healed physically, mentally, and most of all spiritually, that’s including me. Very rarely in my walk with Jesus have I experienced such overwhelming, and unconditional love.
Having been coming to Israel regularly since 2003, and having had the privilege of speaking at many major events in the Holy Land, this particular tour was different, and it was because we came to Israel for an “It’s Time” prayer meeting, the focus being prayer.
We prayed for everything, and we prayed continually, at the sites, in the coaches, in the hotels, on the planes.
We prayed for each other, for our families for our respective countries, we asked God to send rain to Israel after the tour ended, and He did, as the planes were taking off for home it commenced raining. We came home to SA to experience general rain all over the country, and it is still raining as I sit and write you this letter from my prayer room on Shalom Farm, and I am still praying for the areas that have not yet received rain, it will come.
This Christmas season let us make it a prayer Christmas, and we will have a unique time in our homes, on our farms, businesses, and holiday resorts, it will change the environment in which we are living.
We are talking here about praying on the move, yes, in the kitchen, in the car travelling, mowing the grass, putting up the Christmas lights, in the workplace, in fact wherever you find yourself.
We have heard of beautiful testimonies coming back from the prayer tour of Israel. Pilgrims who have been supernaturally healed, delivered, set free, born again, baptised, who have been given new vision, a new beginning and it has all come about through faithful and concerted prayer!
This Christmas we pray it will be the most peaceful and loving time you have ever had together as you “pray without ceasing”, in every single thing you do, every decision you will make, and most important of all before you speak and the Holy Spirit will literally invade your home and circumstances with peace and joy and love.
God Bless you as you rest with your loved ones this Christmas,
Angus and Jill Buchan.
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (John 14:27)
