Ignorance is No Excuse
In a court of law, they say that ignorance is no excuse - you should have known better!
While reading God’s Word this morning the Holy Spirit reminded me very clearly again, that we perish for the lack of knowledge: “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge”. Hosea 4: 6, NKJV.
Here we are speaking decisively about Bible knowledge. We must know what God says about situations in the World today. It’s not good enough to make serious decisions about our lives, and more importantly the lives of our loved ones, on pure ‘hearsay’.
“Therefore my people have gone into captivity because they have no knowledge.”
You should never be interested in my opinion, it’s only God’s opinion that counts. If a man cannot back up his statement with scripture, then totally disregard what he says - even if he says he has heard an instruction from the Holy Spirit!
As followers of Jesus, we have a tremendous responsibility to know the scriptures and to understand them fully. There are many ‘wolves in sheep’s clothing’ (Matthew 7:15) and the only way we can discern these predators is by knowing God’s Holy Bible!
In conclusion, we are to conduct our personal lives, our families and businesses, according to God’s scriptural directives. For example: “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.“ Proverbs 22:6.
