Living Bread of Life
In the Gospel of John 6 and in verse 48, Jesus says very definitely and quite boldly that He is the very bread of life. He says in verse 35, of the same chapter that he, who would come to Him, will never be hungry again!
Bread is the universal diet of the entire World, no matter what form it may come in, we need bread to live.
My late Dad who was a prisoner of war for three and a half years in the hellish Second World War, and who experienced hunger and starvation first hand, always said to me: “A hungry stomach has no conscience.” - In other words a starving man will do anything for a piece of bread.
There is no one, or no solution to this gaping hole of hunger, this great emptiness in society, apart from Jesus Christ! It is He alone, who can satisfy the starving masses, in this World of malnutrition, with the bread of life.
We are speaking here about spiritual food and without it we shall surely die. Therefore, as you and I go out into this starving world today, a place with no hope and filled with malnutrition, let’s feed the hungry with the bread of life - Jesus Christ, and Him alone.
